Then Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD, the king, and the people, that they would be the LORD'S people, and between the king and the people.

So all the people of the land rejoiced and the city was peaceful. For they had put Athaliah to death with the sword at the king's house.

And Elisha died, and they buried him. Now the marauding bands of the Moabites would invade the land in the spring of the year.

And as they were burying a man, behold, they saw a marauding band; and they threw the man into the grave of Elisha. And when the man touched the bones of Elisha he revived and stood up on his feet.

But Amaziah would not listen. So Jehoash king of Israel went up; and they faced each other, he and Amaziah king of Judah, at Beth-shemesh, which belongs to Judah.

And Judah was defeated by Israel, and they fled, every man to his tent.
