“Notice I have taken great pains to provide for the house of the Lord—3,775 tons of gold, 37,750 tons of silver, and bronze and iron that can’t be weighed because there is so much of it. I have also provided timber and stone, but you will need to add more to them.

Now determine in your mind and heart to seek the Lord your God. Get started building the Lord God’s sanctuary so that you may bring the ark of the Lord’s covenant and the holy articles of God to the temple that is to be built for the name of the Lord.”

Jahath was the first and Zizah was the second; however, Jeush and Beriah did not have many sons, so they became one family and received a single assignment.

But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and they had no sons, so Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests.

“So now in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of the Lord, and in the hearing of our God, observe and follow all the commands of the Lord your God so that you may possess this good land and leave it as an inheritance to your descendants forever.

So to the best of my ability I’ve made provision for the house of my God: gold for the gold articles, silver for the silver, bronze for the bronze, iron for the iron, and wood for the wood, as well as onyx, stones for mounting, antimony, stones of various colors, all kinds of precious stones, and a great quantity of marble.

Then David said to the whole assembly, “Blessed be the Lord your God.” So the whole assembly praised the Lord God of their ancestors. They knelt low and paid homage to the Lord and the king.

Now grant me wisdom and knowledge so that I may lead these people, for who can judge this great people of yours?”

So Solomon went to Jerusalem from the high place that was in Gibeon in front of the tent of meeting, and he reigned over Israel.

so he assigned 70,000 men as porters, 80,000 men as stonecutters in the mountains, and 3,600 as supervisors over them.

So all the work Solomon did for the Lord’s temple was completed. Then Solomon brought the consecrated things of his father David—the silver, the gold, and all the utensils—and put them in the treasuries of God’s temple.

So all the men of Israel were assembled in the king’s presence at the festival; this was in the seventh month.

King Solomon and the entire congregation of Israel who had gathered around him were in front of the ark sacrificing sheep, goats, and cattle that could not be counted or numbered because there were so many.

And the cherubim spread their wings over the place of the ark so that the cherubim formed a cover above the ark and its poles.

The poles were so long that their ends were seen from the holy place in front of the inner sanctuary, but they were not seen from outside; they are still there today.

“Since the day I brought my people Israelout of the land of Egypt,I have not chosen a city to build a temple inamong any of the tribes of Israel,so that my name would be there,and I have not chosen a manto be ruler over my people Israel.

So the Lord has fulfilled what he promised.I have taken the place of my father Davidand I sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised.I have built the temple for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

Listen to your servant’s prayer and his petition,Lord my God,so that you may hear the cry and the prayerthat your servant prays before you,

so that your eyes watch over this templeday and night,toward the place where you saidyou would put your name;and so that you may hear the prayeryour servant prays toward this place.

may you hear in heavenand forgive the sin of your servantsand your people Israel,so that you may teach them the good waythey should walk in.May you send rain on your landthat you gave your people for an inheritance.
