And he said to his lad, Run, gather up the arrows which I shoot. And as the lad ran, he shot an arrow beyond him.

And Jonathan called again after the lad, saying, Make haste, quick, stay not. And Jonathans lad gathered up the arrows and brought them to his master.

And Jonathan gave his weapons to his lad, and said to him, Go, carry them to the city.

And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose from beside the stone and came to Jonathan and fell on his face to the ground and bowed himself three times; and they kissed each other, and wept over each other; but David wept more.

Now a certain man of the servants of Saul was there that day, detained before the LORD; and his name was Doeg, an Edomite, the chief of the herdsmen that belonged to Saul.

And the servants of Achish said to him, Is not this David, the king of the land of Israel? Did not the daughters of Israel sing to one another of him in dances, saying, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands?

And David laid up these words in his heart, and was exceedingly afraid of Achish, the king of Gath.

So he changed his behavior in his presence, and disguised himself in their sight, and he sat at the doorpost and let his spittle fall down upon his beard.

Then Achish said to his servants. Lo, you see the man is mad; why then have you brought him to me?

DAVID therefore departed thence, and escaped to the cave of Arlam; and when his brothers and all his fathers household heard it, they went down there to him.

And when Saul heard that David was located, and the men who were with him (now Saul was staying in Gibeah under the almond tree in Ramtha, with his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing about him);

Then Saul said to his servants who stood about him, Hear now, you Benjamites, will the son of Jesse give every one of you fields and vineyards, and make you all commanders of thousands and captains of hundreds;

Then the king summoned Ahimeleck the priest, the son of Ahitub, and all his fathers house, the priests that were in Noh; and all of them came to the king.

Did I begin today to inquire of God for him? Far be it from me; let not the king impute anything to his servant, nor to all the house of my father; for your servant knew nothing of all this matter, less or more.

So David and his men went to Keilah and fought with the Philistines and brought away their cattle and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.

And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimeleck fled to David to Keilah, he came down with an ephod in his hand.

And Saul called all the people together to war to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.

Then David and his men, who were about six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah and went wherever they could go. And it was told Saul that David had fled from Keilah; and he forbore to go forth.

And David abode in the wilderness of Misroth, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him into his hand.

And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life; and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a forest.
