The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty.

For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. "Eat and drink!" he says to you, But his heart is not with you.

Do not let your heart envy sinners, But be zealous for the fear of the LORD all the day;

"They have struck me, but I was not hurt; They have beaten me, but I did not feel it. When shall I awake, that I may seek another drink?

For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.

But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, And a good blessing will come upon them.

It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, But the glory of kings is to search out a matter.

A stone is heavy and sand is weighty, But a fool's wrath is heavier than both of them.

Wrath is cruel and anger a torrent, But who is able to stand before jealousy?

Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
