Behold, a virgin will conceive, and will bear a son, and thou shalt call his name Emmanuel, which is interpreted, Our God with us.

And do not think, and say within yourselves, that Abraham is our father: for I say to you, that God is able of these tones to raise up children to Abraham.

And the Tempter came, and said to him: If thou art the Son of God, command these stones to become bread.

But he replied, and said: It is written, that not by bread only, doth man live; but by every word proceeding from the mouth of God.

and said to him: If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, that he will give his angels charge of thee, and in their hands will they sustain thee, lest thou strike thy foot against a stone.

Jesus said to him: It is moreover written, that thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

Then Jesus said to him: Begone, Satan; for it is written, that thou shalt worship the Lord, thy God; and him only shalt thou serve.

Blessed are the clean in heart: for they shall behold God !

Blessed are the cultivators of peace: for they shall be called sons of God !

But I say to you, Swear not at all: not by heaven, for it is the throne of God:

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will honor the one and neglect the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

And if God so clothe the grass of the field, which exists to-day, and tomorrow falls into the oven, will he not much more [fn] you, ye small in faith?

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness: and all these things shall be added to you.

And they cried out, and said: What have we to do with thee? Jesus, thou Son of God. Hast thou come hither before the time to torment us?

8 And when the multitudes saw [fn] , they were struck with awe; and they praised God, who had given authority like this to men.

How he went to the house of God, and ate the bread of the Lord's table; which it was not lawful for him to eat, nor for them that were with him, but solely for the priests?

But if I by the Spirit of God cast out demons, the kingdom of God hath come near to you.

And he answered, and said to them: He that soweth the good seed, is the Son of God.

And they that were in the ship, came and worshipped him, and said: Truly thou art the Son of God !

Jesus replied and said to them: Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God, on account of your tradition?
