Zeg dan tot hen: Zo waarachtig Ik leef, spreekt de Heere Heere, Ik heb geen behagen in den dood des goddelozen, maar daarin, dat de goddeloze zich bekere van zijn doen en leve. Bekeert u dan toch van uw kwaaddoen, want waarom zoudt gij sterven, gij huis van Isral?
Zeg tot hen: Zo waarachtig als Ik leef, spreekt de Heere HEERE, zo Ik lust heb in den dood des goddelozen! maar daarin heb Ik lust, dat de goddeloze zich bekere van zijn weg en leve. Bekeert u, bekeert u van uw boze wegen, want waarom zoudt gij sterven, o huis Israels?

Verse Ezekiel 33:11. As I live, saith the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked — From this to the twentieth verse inclusive is nearly the same with Ezekiel 18:3 &c., on which I wish the reader to consult the notes. Ezekiel 18:3.
