And the elders of the city came trembling to meet him, and one said - Peaceably, comest thou?4 Then Samuel did as the Lord had said to him. And he came to Bethlehem, and the ancients of the city wondered, and meeting him, they said: Is thy coming hither peaceable?4 Samuel did what the LORD commanded, and came to Bethlehem. The elders of the city came to meet him trembling, and said, "Do you come peaceably?"4 And Samuel does that which YHWH has spoken, and comes to Beth-Lehem, and [the] elderly of the city tremble to meet him, and [one] says, "Is your coming peace?"
4 Samuel did what God told him. When he arrived at Bethlehem, the town fathers greeted him, but apprehensively. "Is there something wrong?"4 So Samuel did what the LORD said, and came to (C1)Bethlehem. And the elders of the city came trembling to meet him and said, "(C2)Do you come in peace?"
5 “In peace,” he replied. “I’ve come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves(C1) and come with me to the sacrifice.”(F1) Then he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice. 5 He said, Peaceably; I am come to sacrifice to the LORD: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.
5 Samuel answered, "Yes, I come in peace. I have come to make a sacrifice to the Lord. Set yourselves apart to the Lord and come to the sacrifice with me." Then he set Jesse and his sons apart to the Lord, and he invited them to come to the sacrifice. 5 He replied, "Yes, in peace. I have come to sacrifice to the Lord. Consecrate yourselves and come with me to the sacrifice." So he consecrated Jesse and his sons and invited them to the sacrifice.5 And he said, "In peace; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD. Then he invited them to come and share the sacrifice.5 And he said, Peaceably; I have come to sacrifice to the LORD; sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and invited them to the sacrifice.
5 "Yes," he answered. "I have come to offer a sacrifice to the Lord. Purify yourselves and come with me."
