THE MESSAGE
Then David presented his son Solomon with the plans for The Temple complex: porch, storerooms, meeting rooms, and the place for atoning sacrifice. He turned over the plans for everything that God's Spirit had brought to his mind: the design of the courtyards, the arrangements of rooms, and the closets for storing all the holy things. He gave him his plan for organizing the Levites and priests in their work of leading and ordering worship in the house of God, and for caring for the liturgical furnishings. He provided exact specifications for how much gold and silver was needed for each article used in the services of worship: the gold and silver Lampstands and lamps, the gold tables for consecrated bread, the silver tables, the gold forks, the bowls and the jars, and the Incense Altar. And he gave him the plan for sculpting the cherubs with their wings outstretched over the Chest of the Covenant of God —the cherubim throne. "Here are the blueprints for the whole project as God gave me to understand it," David said.
New American Standard Bible (1995)
Then David gave to his son Solomon the plan of the porch of the temple, its buildings, its storehouses, its upper rooms, its inner rooms and the room for the mercy seat;

Contextual Overview

11 Then David gave to his son Solomon the design of the doorway of the house of God and of its houses and its store-houses, and the higher rooms and the inner rooms and the place for the mercy-seat; 12 And the design of all he had in his heart for the outer squares of the house of the Lord, and for the rooms all round it, and for the store-houses of the house of the Lord, and for the store-houses for the holy things; 13 And for the divisions of the priests and Levites, and for all the work in connection with the worship of the house of the Lord, and all the vessels used in the house of the Lord; 14 Of gold, by weight, for the vessels of gold, for all the vessels of different uses; and silver for all the vessels of silver by weight, for vessels of different uses; 15 And gold by weight for the light-supports and the vessels for the lights, the weight of gold needed for every support and every vessel for lights; and for the silver light-supports, the weight of silver needed for every support and for the different vessels as every one was to be used; 16 And gold by weight for the tables for the holy bread for every table, and silver for the silver tables; 17 Clear gold for the meat-hooks and the basins and the cups; for the gold basins, gold enough by weight for every basin; and silver by weight for every silver basin; 18 And the best gold for the altar of perfumes; and gold for the design of the carriage, for the winged ones whose wings were outstretched covering the ark of the Lord's agreement. 19 All this, said David, the design for all these things, has been made dear to me in writing by the hand of the Lord. 20 And David said to his son Solomon, Be strong and of a good heart and do your work; have no fear and do not be troubled, for the Lord God, my God, is with you; he will not give you up, and his face will not be turned away from you, till all the work necessary for the house of the Lord is complete.

It may, however, be a Chaldee form of the Hebrew גנז, genez, (from גנז, genaz, to treasure up); the ך being merely formative, as in דך, dech, אלך, illaich, and other Chaldee words. 1 Chronicles 9:26-29, 1 Chronicles 26:20-27, Luke 21:1

Gill's Notes on the Bible

Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch,.... The breadth, and length, and height of it, which was to be placed at the east end of the temple, and was the entrance into it:

and, of the houses thereof; the holy place, and the most holy, which latter is called the greater house, 2 Chronicles 3:5,

and of the treasures; where things belonging to the temple were laid up, the priests' vestments, and other things:

and of the upper chambers; where the priests lay or met for conversation, Jeremiah 35:2.

and of the inner parlours thereof; where the priests ate of the holy things; all these seem to he buildings against the wall of the temple round about, 1 Kings 6:5

and of the place of the mercy seat: the holy of holies, where that, with the cherubim over it, and the ark under it, were placed.

Barnes' Notes on the Bible

Compare 1 Chronicles 28:19. As God had revealed to Moses the pattern of the tabernacle Exodus 26:0; Exodus 27:0, so He had made known by revelation to David the pattern of the temple and its furniture. This pattern, which consisted of a set of directions in writing, David now handed over to Solomon.

The houses - The “holy place” and the “holy of holies “ - called respectively “the house” and the “inner house” 1 Kings 6:17, 1 Kings 6:27, and 2 Chronicles 3:5, 2 Chronicles 3:8 “the greater house” and “the most holy house.”

The upper chambers - Compare 2 Chronicles 3:9 note.

The inner parlours - The small rooms of the “lean-to” (1 Kings 6:5 note), entered one from another.

Clarke's Notes on the Bible

Verse 1 Chronicles 28:11. David gave to Solomon - the pattern — He gave him an ichnograph of the building, with elevations, sections, and specifications of every part; and all this he received by inspiration from God himself, (see 1 Chronicles 28:12; 1 Chronicles 28:19,) just as Moses had received the plan of the tabernacle.

The treasuries thereof — גנזכיו ganzaccaiv. The word גנזך ganzach is not Hebrew, but is supposed to be Persian, the same word being found in Esther 3:9. In this tongue we have the word [Persian] ganj, a granary, a hidden treasure, and [Persian] gunjoor, and [Persian] gunjineh, a treasure, treasury, or barn. Parkhurst supposes that it is compounded of גנז ganaz, to treasure up, and זך zach, pure; a treasury for the most precious things.
