Isn’t Hezekiah misleading you to give you over to death by famine and thirst when he says, “The Lord our God will keep us from the grasp of the king of Assyria”?
Does not Hizkiyahu persuade you, to give you over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, the LORD our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Ashshur?
Doth not Hezekiah persuade you to give over yourselves to die by famine and by thirst, saying, The Lord our God shall deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

Hezekiah says to you, ‘The Lord our God will save us from the king of Assyria,' but he is fooling you. If you stay in Jerusalem, you will die from hunger and thirst.
Hezekiah says, "The Lord our God will rescue us from the power of the king of Assyria." But he is misleading you and you will die of hunger and thirst!

Hezekiah your king is telling you that the Lord your God will save you from me. But he is lying, and you'll die of hunger and thirst.
Hasn't Hizkiyahu deluded you? Isn't he condemning you to death by starvation and thirst when he says, " Adonai our God will save us from the king of Ashur"?
Does not Hezekiah persuade you, to give yourselves over to die by famine and by thirst, saying, Jehovah our God will deliver us out of the hand of the king of Assyria?
Hezekiah is deceiving you that he may give you over to die by famine and by thirst, and moreover he is misleading you, saying, The LORD our God shall deliver us out of the hands of the king of Assyria.
Hezekiah tells you that the Lord your God will save you from our power, but Hezekiah is deceiving you and will let you die of hunger and thirst.
Is not Hezekiah urging you to give you up to die by starvation and thirst, saying, "Yahweh our God will save us from the hand of the king of Assyria"?

The author of Chronicles compresses into 13 verses the history which occupies in Kings a chapter and a half (2 Kings 18:17-19; where see the notes).
2 Chronicles 32:10
In the siege - Perhaps âin straitnessâ (compare Jeremiah 19:9). Jerusalem is thought by some to have been not so much besieged at this time, as distressed and straitened for supplies, because the Assyrians were masters of the open country.
2 Chronicles 32:13
fathers - i. e. âpredecessors.â Sennacherib really belonged to a dynasty that had only furnished one king before himself.
2 Chronicles 32:22
Guided them ... - A slight alteration of the existing text gives the sense - âgave them rest round about;â a common expression in Chronicles 2 Chronicles 15:15; 2 Chronicles 20:30.
