You said, ‘I will be the queen forever.’You did not take these things to heartor think about their outcome.
You said, I shall be mistress forever; so that you did not lay these things to your heart, neither did remember the latter end of it.
And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end of it.
You said, "I shall be mistress forever," so that you did not lay these things to heart or remember their end.
"Yet you said, 'I will be a queen forever.' These things you did not consider Nor remember the outcome of them.
You said, ‘I will live forever as the queen.' But you did not think about these things or consider what would happen.
"And you said, 'I shall be a queen forevermore.' You did not consider these things, Nor did you [seriously] remember the [ultimate] outcome of such conduct.
You said, I shall be mistress forever; so that you did not lay these things to your heart, neither did remember the latter end of it.
And thou saidest, I shal be a ladie for euer, so yt thou diddest not set thy mind to these things, neither diddest thou remeber ye latter end therof.
Yet you said, ‘I will be a queen forever.'These things you did not put on your heartNor remember the outcome of them.

You thought that you would be queen forever. You didn't care what you did; it never entered your mind that you might get caught.
You said, ‘I will be mistress forever.' so you didn't consider these things or think about the consequences.
and thou saidst, I shall be a mistress for ever; so that thou didst not take these things to heart, thou didst not remember the end thereof.
You said, ‘I will live forever. I will always be the queen.' You didn't care what you did to my people. You didn't think about what might happen later.
And you said, I shall be a mighty one for ever; so that you did not lay these things to your heart, neither did remember the end thereof.
You thought you would always be a queen, and did not take these things to heart or think how it all would end.
And you said, "I shall be an eternal mistress forever!" You did not set these things upon your heart; you did not remember its end.
And you said, I shall be a mistress forever, until you did not set these things on your heart, and did not remember its end.
& thou thoughtest thus: I shalbe lady for euer. And besyde all that, thou hast not regarded these thinges, nether cast, what shulde come after.
And thou saidst, I shall be mistress for ever; so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the latter end thereof.
And you said, I will be a queen for ever: you did not give attention to these things, and did not keep in mind what would come after.
And thou saidst: 'For ever shall I be mistress'; so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the end thereof.
And thou saydst, I shall bee a Ladie for euer: so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the later end of it.
And thou thoughtest thus: I shalbe lady for euer, and beside all that, thou hast not regarded these thinges, neither remembred what was the ende of that citie Hierusalem.
and saidst, I shall be a princess for ever: thou didst not perceive these things in thine heart, nor didst thou remember the latter end.

You said, ‘I will rule forever as permanent queen!' You did not think about these things; you did not consider how it would turn out.
And you said, "I shall be a lady forever,' So that you did not take these things to heart, Nor remember the latter end of them.
You said, ‘I will reign forever as queen of the world!' You did not reflect on your actions or think about their consequences.
You said, ‘I will be a queen forever.' So you did not think about these things, or remember what might happen.
You said, "I shall be mistress forever," so that you did not lay these things to heart or remember their end.
And thou saidst, Unto times age-abiding, shall I be Mistress, - Insomuch that thou laidst not these things to thy heart, Didst not keep in mind the issue thereof,
And thou hast said: I shall be a lady for ever: thou hast not laid these things to thy heart, neither hast thou remembered thy latter end.

Finally, Jacob made it back home to his father Isaac at Mamre in Kiriath Arba, present-day Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac had lived. Isaac was now 180 years old. Isaac breathed his last and died—an old man full of years. He was buried with his family by his sons Esau and Jacob.
Joseph then announced to the people: "Here's how things stand: I've bought you and your land for Pharaoh. In exchange I'm giving you seed so you can plant the ground. When the crops are harvested, you must give a fifth to Pharaoh and keep four-fifths for yourselves, for seed for yourselves and your families—you're going to be able to feed your children!"

The army crossed the Jordan but the king stayed. The king kissed and blessed Barzillai, who then returned home. Then the king, Kimham with him, crossed over at Gilgal. The whole army of Judah and half the army of Israel processed with the king. The men of Israel came to the king and said, "Why have our brothers, the men of Judah, taken over as if they owned the king, escorting the king and his family and close associates across the Jordan?" The men of Judah retorted, "Because the king is related to us, that's why! But why make a scene? You don't see us getting treated special because of it, do you?" The men of Israel shot back, "We have ten shares in the king to your one. Besides we're the firstborn—so why are we having to play second fiddle? It was our idea to bring him back." But the men of Judah took a harder line than the men of Israel.
He ordered Gehazi, "Don't lose a minute—grab my staff and run as fast as you can. If you meet anyone, don't even take time to greet him, and if anyone greets you, don't even answer. Lay my staff across the boy's face."
During the meal, Jesus took and blessed the bread, broke it, and gave it to his disciples: Take, eat. This is my body. Taking the cup and thanking God, he gave it to them: Drink this, all of you. This is my blood, God's new covenant poured out for many people for the forgiveness of sins. "I'll not be drinking wine from this cup again until that new day when I'll drink with you in the kingdom of my Father."
Taking bread, he blessed it, broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body, given for you. Eat it in my memory."

And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever,.... That her monarchy would continue in a succession of kings, that should rule over all nations to the end of the world. So mystical Babylon, when near her ruin, will say, "I sit a queen----and shall see no sorrow", Revelation 18:7:
so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart; neither the sins she had been guilty of, particularly in acting the cruel part towards the people of God; nor the evils foretold should come upon her; these she did not consider of and think upon, so as to repent of the one, and prevent the other:
neither didst remember the latter end of it; or, "thy latter end" f; either her own latter end, the end of her wickedness which she had committed, as Jarchi; the end of her pride, that she should be humbled, as Aben Ezra and Kimchi; or her ruin and destruction, the end she should come to at last; this she never thought of, but put this evil day far from her: or she remembered not the latter end of Jerusalem, who, though a lady too, fell by her own hand; which sense Kimchi takes notice of: or she did not consider what would befall the Jews in the latter day; that God would put an end to their calamities, and deliver them out of Babylon, as he had foretold.
f ××ר××ª× "novissimi tui", Vatablus; who observes a various reading. In some copies it is ××ר×ת×, "thy latter end"; which is followed by the Vulgate Latin.

And thou saidst, I shall be a lady for ever - This passage describes the pride and self-confidence of Babylon. She was confident in her wealth; the strength of her gates and walls; and in her abundant resources to resist an enemy, or to sustain a siege. Babylon was ten miles square; and it was supposed to contain provisions enough to maintain a siege for many years. There were, moreover, no symptoms of internal decay; there were no apparent external reasons why her prosperity should not continue; there were no causes at work, which human sagacity could detect, which would prevent her continuing to any indefinite period of time.
Thou didst not lay these things to thy heart - Thou didst not consider what, under the government of a holy and just God, must be the effect of treating a captured and oppressed people in this manner. Babylon supposed, that notwithstanding her pride, and haughtiness, and oppressions, she would be able to stand forever.
Neither didst remember the latter end of it - The end of pride, arrogance, and cruelty. The sense is, that Babylon might have learned from the fate of other kingdoms that had been, like her, arrogant and cruel, what must inevitably be her own destiny. But she refused to learn a lesson from their doom. So common is it for nations to disregard the lessons which history teaches; so common for individuals to neglect the warnings furnished by the destruction of the wicked.

Verse Isaiah 47:7. So that thou didst not - "Because thou didst not"] For ×¢× ad, read ×¢× al; so two MSS., and one edition. And for, ××ר××ª× acharithah, "the latter end of it," read ××ר××ª× acharithecha, "thy latter end;" so thirteen MSS., and two editions, and the Vulgate. Both the sixth and seventh verses are wanting in one of my oldest MSS.
