1 These are the people of Aaron and Moses at the time when the Lord spoke with Moses on Mount Sinai. 2 The names of the sons of Aaron are Nadab the first-born, Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. 3 These are the names of the sons of Aaron, the chosen religious leaders. Verse Numbers 3:8. All the instruments — The tabernacle itself and all its contents: see all described, Numbers 3:25-26; Numbers 3:31; Numbers 3:36-37. The Levites were to perform the most common and laborious offices. It was their business to take down, put up, and carry the tabernacle and its utensils; for it was the object of their peculiar care. In a word, they were the servants of the priests.
