Passing along the beach of Lake Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew net-fishing. Fishing was their regular work. Jesus said to them, "Come with me. Andrew his brother — Instead of the common reading, αδελφον αυτου, his brother, the best MSS. and versions have αδελφουτου σιμωνος, the brother of Simon, which should be received into the text. The most eminent critics approve of this reading.
