¹⁸ Caleb the son of Hezron had children by his wife Azu'bah, and by Jer'ioth; and these were her sons: Jesher, Shobab, and Ardon. ¹⁹ When Azu'bah died, Caleb married Ephrath, who bore him Hur. ²⁰ Hur was the father of Uri, and Uri was the father of Bez'alel. ²¹ Afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was sixty years old; and she bore him Segub; ²² and Segub was the father of Ja'ir, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead. ²³ But Geshur and Aram took from them Havvoth-ja'ir, Kenath and its villages, sixty towns.
