Barnes' Notes on the Bible

Y todo lo que le pedimos, lo recibimos de él - Si realmente somos sus hijos, y le preguntamos de manera adecuada. Vea las notas en Mateo 7:7. Compare Marco 11:24; Lucas 11:9; Lucas 18:1 ff; Juan 14:13; Joh 15: 7 ; 1 Juan 5:14. La declaración aquí hecha debe entenderse con estas limitaciones:

Clarke's Notes on the Bible

Versículo 22. Todo lo que pidamos , con tal espíritu lo recibimos de él , porque se deleita en bendecir al alma humilde, recta y sincera.

Porque guardamos sus mandamientos.  Es decir, amándolo a él y amando a nuestro prójimo. Estos son los grandes mandamientos tanto del antiguo pacto como del nuevo. Y quien esté lleno de este amor a Dios y al hombre, hará las cosas que le agradan ; porque el amor es el alma misma y el principio de la obediencia. La palabra corazón se usa en los versículos precedentes para conciencia ; y así lo interpretan los padres griegos, particularmente Orígenes, Nicéforo y Oecumenio; pero este no es un significado poco frecuente de la palabra en las sagradas escrituras.
