Ketika ratu negeri Syeba mendengar kabar tentang Salomo, maka dengan pasukan pengiring yang sangat besar dan dengan unta-unta yang membawa rempah-rempah, banyak emas dan batu permata yang mahal-mahal datanglah ia ke Yerusalem hendak menguji Salomo dengan teka-teki. Setelah ia sampai kepada Salomo, dipercakapkannyalah segala yang ada dalam hatinya dengan dia.
Sebermula, maka serta kabar akan hal raja Sulaiman kedengaranlah kepada permaisuri negeri Syeba, maka datanglah ia ke Yeruzalem hendak mencobai akan raja Sulaiman dengan beberapa penerka dan sertanya adalah suatu tentara yang besar dan beberapa unta yang muat rempah-rempah dan amat banyak emas dan permata yang indah-indah; maka sampailah ia kepada raja Sulaiman, lalu berkata-kata dengan baginda akan hal segala sesuatu yang di dalam hatinya.

The narrative here is parallel with that in marginal reference, from which it varies but little, and to which it adds nothing.

Terraces - Rather, as in the margin, “stairs” (see the 1 Kings 10:12 note).
2 Chronicles 9:12
Beside that which she had brought unto the king - It is difficult to assign any sense to these words as they now stand in the Hebrew text. A slight alteration will give the meaning: “Beside that which the king had brought for her;” which is in conformity with 1 Kings 10:13.
