Paskah semacam itu tidak pernah lagi dirayakan di Israel sejak nabi Samuel. Seorangpun di antara raja-raja orang Israel tidak pernah merayakan Paskah seperti yang dirayakan Yosia dengan para imam dan orang-orang Lewi, dengan seluruh orang Yehuda dan Israel yang dapat hadir, dan dengan penduduk Yerusalem.
Maka dari pada zaman nabi Semuel tiada pernah dipegang Pasah di antara orang Israel yang seperti Pasah ini, dan seorang raja Israelpun tiada pernah memegang Pasah yang seperti dipegang oleh Yosia dengan segala imam dan orang Lewi dan segala orang Yehuda dan mana orang Israel yang hadir dengan segala orang isi Yeruzalem.

Ver. 18-19. And there was no passover like to that kept in Israel,.... So exactly according to the law, so universally by Israel and Judah, and with such liberality shown by the king, and the chief of the priests and Levites; of this, and the following verse, :-,

Verse 2 Chronicles 35:18. There was no passover like to that — "That which distinguished this passover from all the former was," says Calmet, "the great liberality of Josiah, who distributed to his people a greater number of victims than either David or Solomon had done."
