Jawab mereka kepadanya: "Ada seorang datang menemui kami dan berkata kepada kami: Pergilah, kembalilah kepada raja yang telah menyuruh kamu, dan katakanlah kepadanya: Beginilah firman TUHAN: Apakah tidak ada Allah di Israel, sehingga engkau menyuruh meminta petunjuk kepada Baal-Zebub, allah di Ekron? Sebab itu engkau tidak akan bangun lagi dari tempat tidur di mana engkau berbaring, sebab engkau pasti akan mati."
Maka sembah mereka itu kepadanya: Adalah seorang anu datang mendapatkan patik serta katanya: Pergilah kamu, kembalilah kepada baginda, yang telah menyuruhkan kamu dan persembahkanlah kepadanya: Demikian inilah firman Tuhan: Adakah sebab tiada Allah di antara orang Israel, maka engkau sudah menyuruhkan orang bertanyakan Baal-Zebub, dewa orang Ekeron itu? Maka sebab itu tiada engkau akan turun dari pada peraduan yang telah kaunaiki itu, melainkan engkau akan mati kelak!

And they said unto him, there came a man up to meet us, and said unto us, go, turn again unto the king that sent you,.... King Ahaziah:
and say unto him; and then they repeated all that is said by the angel to Elijah, and he had delivered to them, 2 Kings 1:3 and which was a sufficient reason for their turning back, since they got a full answer from a man of God, of what they were to inquire of at Ekron; which was, whether the king would recover of this disease or not.
