²⁶ Beholde, I set before you this day, a blessing and a curse: ²⁷ A blessing, if ye obay the commaundementes of the Lord your God which I commaunde you this day: ²⁸ And a curse, if ye wyll not obay the commaundemeutes of the Lorde your God, but turne out of the way whiche I commaunde you this day, to go after straunge gods whiche ye haue not knowen. ²⁹ When the Lorde thy God therefore hath brought thee into the lande whyther thou goest to possesse it, thou shalt put the blessing vpon mount Garizim, and the curse vpon mount Ebal. ³⁰ Are not these mountaynes on the other side Iordane, on that part of the way where the sunne goeth downe, in the lande of the Chanaanites, whiche dwell in the playne ouer against Gilgal besyde the groue of Moreh? ³¹ For ye shall passe ouer Iordane, to go in and possesse the lande whiche the Lorde your God geueth you, and ye shall possesse it, and dwell therein. ³² Take heede therfore that ye do all the commaundementes and lawes whiche I set before you this day.

A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God,.... That is, a blessing should come upon them, even all temporal blessings they stood in need of; they should be blessed in body and estate, in their families, and in their flocks, in town and country; see Deuteronomy 28:1,

which I command you this day; afresh repeated to them, and enjoined them the observation of it in the name of the Lord.
