Ueryly I say vnto you, there shall no signe be geue vnto this generation. 13 And he lefte them, and went into the ship agayne, & departed ouer the water. 14 And they had forgotten to take bread [with them] neither had they in the ship with them more then one loafe. 15 And he charged the, saying: Take heede, beware of the leuen of the pharisees, and of the leuen of Herode. 16 And they reasoned among them selues, saying: We haue no bread. 17 And Iesus knewe it, and sayth vnto them: Why reason ye, because ye haue no bread? Perceaue ye not yet, neither vnderstande? Haue ye your heart yet hardened? 18 Haue ye eyes, and see not? and haue ye eares & heare not? Do ye not remember? 19 When I brake fyue loaues among fyue thousande men, howe many baskettes full of broken meate toke ye vp? They say vnto hym, twelue.

Gill's Notes on the Bible

And straightway he entered into a ship, with his disciples,.... As soon as ever he had, dismissed the multitude, he took shipping with his disciples; for he was at the sea of Galilee, either at a place near it, or upon the shore of it; see Mark 7:31;

and came into the parts of Dalmanutha; which Matthew calls, "the coasts of Magdala"; Mark 7:31- :. The Arabic version reads it, "Magdal"; and in two of Beza's copies it is read, "Madegada"; but the Syriac version reads, "Dalmanutha"; and the Persic, "Dalmanuth"; and the Ethiopic, "Dalmathy": it was a city in the coasts of Magdala, and is thought by Dr. Lightfoot to be the same with Tzalmon, or Salmon, a place often mentioned f in the Jewish writings.
