22 و اما قومی‌ كه‌ در زمین‌ یهودا باقی‌ ماندند و نَبُوكَدْنَصَّر، پادشاه‌ بابل‌ ایشان‌ را رها كرده‌ بود، پس‌ جَدَلْیا ابن‌ اخیقام‌ بن‌ شافان‌ را بر ایشان‌ گماشت‌.

Barnes' Notes on the Bible

We may be allowed to conjecture that Jeremiah, in gratitude for Ahikam’s service to himself Jeremiah 26:24, recommended his son Gedaliah to Nebuzaradan, and through him to Nebuchadnezzar, for the office of governor.

Clarke's Notes on the Bible

Verse 2 Kings 25:22. Made Gedaliah - ruler. — This was no regal dignity; he was only a sort of hind or overseer, appointed to regulate the husbandmen.
