Matthew 26:28 — My blood. No covenant could be made without shedding of blood (Exodus 24:8 . If not made then, it can never now be made, for the Lord has no blood to shed (Luke 24:39 ). This is the ground of the proclamation of "them that heard Him" (Hebrews 2:3 ).
