1 Kings 14:16 — made Israel to sin. The first of twenty-one occurrences in these two books: 1 Kings 14:16 ; 1 Kings 15:26 , 1Ki 15:30 , 1 Kings 15:34 ; 1 Kings 16:19 , 1Ki 16:26 ; 1 Kings 21:22 ; 1 Kings 22:52 . 2Ki 3:3 ; 2 Kings 10:29 , 2 Kings 10:31 ; 2Ki 13:2 , 2 Kings 13:6 , 2 Kings 13:11 ; 2Ki 14:24 ; 2 Kings 15:9 , 2 Kings 15:18 , 2Ki 15:24 , 2 Kings 15:28 ; 2 Kings 16:13 ; 2Ki 17:21 ; 2 Kings 23:15 .

1 Kings 7:15 — cast. Hebrew fashioned. two pillars = the two pillars: i.e. the two notable pillars, for ornament, not for support, and hollow (Jeremiah 52:21 ). eighteen cubits high apiece. So 2 Kings 25:17 and Jeremiah 52:21 . But 2 Chronicles 3:15 (margin) says thirty-five cubits long: i.e. together, the top of "each" being reckoned separately. Therefore the height here was 17 + cubit being taken up in the joining on of the capital. apiece. This is the reckoning here. In 2 Chronicles 3:15

2 Kings 15:1 — twenty and seventh year. So in 2 Chronicles 26:1-3 . Azariah being then sixteen (2 Kings 15:2 ), and therefore only three on the death of his father Arnaziah. Hence, there were thirteen years interregnum (16 - 3 = 13). Arnaziah died in the fourteenth year of Jeroboam. Therefore Azariah began to reign

2 Chronicles 19:2 — Judah, at Jerusalem. Shouldest thou . . . ? Figure of speech Erotesis , for emphasis. Here we have Jehovah's opinion as to alliances with idolaters (Ahab, 2 Chronicles 18:1 , &c), and as to what constitutes a "good work". 2 Chronicles 35:3 — that taught all Israel. This was the great and special duty of the priests and Levites.
