What assurance, He’ll take care of all our problems & fears.
He’s our refuge…He’ll Hide us.

For each country’s judgment there is a purpose behind it…why let
Isaiah 37:1-38 what peace we often forfeit, O what needless pain we bear,All because we do not carry, Everything to God in prayer!

No lesson could have been more impressively taught!
And it is for all time.
We learn:
[1] The personal relationship God desires (4)
[2] The special affection God has for us (5,6)
[3] Hearing is believing, not seeing (9,21)

Jeremiah 1:1-10 captivity. He was persecuted for his message to his people.
The 1st part of his ministry the message was “Repent or be Destroyed”.
After the fall Neb. Gave him the option to go to Babylon, or stay w/the poor remnant {2 Kings 24:14}.
Later this remnant went down to Egypt against Jer. & Baruch’s Advice (43:6,7).
Jer. Still sought to turn them back to the Lord.
Jer. Predicted there return to the land in the end {23:5-8}
Jer. Probably died down in Egypt.
Q:
Jeremiah 18:1-23 ground,” – (yatsar - to mould into a form; espec. as a potter;) (Strongs)
Here in ch.18 we have a vessel in the making.
2 Parables: Pottery Watching! & Pottery Smashing!
POTTERY WATCHING! CH.18
Watching the Potter! (1-4)
30 Hebrew words are used for pottery. It was a major industry in the Near East.
Note: He received this message not in prayer, not in church(Temple), not from his Pastor, but while watching a man throw a pot in his daily work.

Jeremiah 21:1-14 MESSAGE! To the People!(8-10)
He gives them the choice between life & death.
Vs.10 – The heart of the chapter!
Look at this salvationally!
3RD MESSAGE! To the Kings of Judah!(11-14)
Josiah was the last good king.
The 4 after him were evil men whose doom Jeremiah announces.
Had the kings led the nation in repentance, God would have shown mercy, but they persisted

Numbers 15:1-41
INTRO:
Last couple of weeks learned about why this generation of Israel wasn’t going to make it into the land, but only their children. (spies bad report, see 14:34)
But praise God unbelief is not genetic, so God could begin afresh with another group.
One way God demonstrated His ongoing relationship with Israel was through the giving of new laws. Four sets of laws appear in ch.15.
Outline: Assurance;
Numbers 32:1-42 not be the best for God nor the best for others(break moral of the people)...but it will be really nice for our cattle! Can we, can we?
We solemnly swear to fully support the other 91/2 tribes in conquering Canaan. Can we, can we?
THE RESULTS! (33-42)
At 1st Moses was indignant, but now after their explanation, he modifies his wrath & grants their request.
Their cattle kept them on the wrong side of the river of separation.
Results:
God
Hebrews 5:12-14 a child that was the thumb sucker? Or, was bound to mr. Binkey? Or, inseparable from mr. Blankey? Do you remember what it took to separate them from it?
But besides those few situations, usually kids are anxious to grow up.
When you’re 4 or 5 years old...you don’t want to be called a baby.
When you’re at Magic Mountain you don’t want to be 1” under that line.
The years out of High School, you desperately want to be respected as an adult.

Sometimes it’s the pastors fault a church is dying - sometimes he’ll remove the star & put another in his place!
CONDEMNATION (1C-2)
Usually the Commendation goes here. {We’ll see it in verse 4}
Sardis comes under the most severe denunciation of the 7!
Just as the City was now only a shadow of its former splendor, being alive in name only, so was the Sardis Church!
The 1st Condemnation was for its Lifeless Profession: (vs.1c)
