Isaiah 48

Introduction

1God, to convince the people of their foreknown obstinancy, revealed his prophecies.
9He saves them for his own sake.
12He exhorts them to obedience, because of his power and providence.
16He laments their backwardness.
20He powerfully delivers his people out of Babylon.

Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, which are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the waters of Judah, which swear by the name of the LORD, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness.
