(e li' hyoo) Personal name meaning, “he is God.” 1. The son of Barachel the Buzite who addressed Job after the latter's first three friends had ended their speeches (Job 32:2 ). Elihu's words fill Job 32-37 . Interpreters differ with regard to the significance of Elihu's speeches. His words seem to be somewhat more insightful than those of the other three friends, yet they still prove finally unsatisfactory as an explanation of Job's suffering. See Job 32-37 .
