Lane
Holman Bible Dictionary
A narrow, constricted passageway. In English, lane evokes the image of a rural path between hedges or fences. The Greek Term is used for a city alley ( Luke 14:21 , KJV, NAS, NRSV; alley, NIV, REB, TEV). Compare Acts 9:11; Acts 12:10 where the same Greek term is used.
