See Atlantic (disambiguation) for articles sharing the titlea city and the county-seat of Cass county, Iowa, U.S.A., on East Nishnabatna river, about 80 m. W. by S. of Des Moines. Pop. (1890) 435 1; (1900) 5046; (1905, state census) 5180, of whom 625 were foreign-born. It is served by the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific railway, and by an interurban electric line connecting with Elkhorn and Kimballton, and is the trade centre of a fine agricultural country; among its manufactures are machine-shop products, canned corn, flour, umbrellas, drugs and bricks. The municipality owns the waterworks and electric-lighting plant. Atlantic was chartered as a city in 1869.
