Lord GOD," Joshua said, "why did You ever bring ... - this - people across the Jordan to deliver us into the hands of the Amorites to be destroyed? If only we had been content to stay on the other side of the Jordan!

And Joshua said Alas O Lord God why have you brought this people over the Jordan at all to give us into the hands of the Amorites to destroy us Would that we had been content to dwell beyond the Jordan

"Oh, Lord God," Joshua said, "why did You ever bring these people across the Jordan to hand us over to the Amorites for our destruction? If only we had been content to remain on the other side of the Jordan!

And Joshua said (8799), Alas, O Lord GOD, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to destroy us? would to God we had been content (8689), and dwelt on the other side Jordan!
