וַיַּמְלֵ֛ךְ

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And he gathered together

and the Levites

wə·hal·wî·yim.

וְהַלְוִיִּֽם׃

Now the Levites

from the age

their number

לְגֻלְגְּלֹתָם֙

וּשְׁמוֹנָ֖ה

Of these [were]

to set forward

lə·naṣ·ṣê·aḥ

of the house

wə·’ar·bā·‘āh

וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה

[were] and officers

wə·šō·ṭə·rîm

וְשֹׁטְרִ֥ים

wə·šō·p̄ə·ṭîm

וְשֹׁפְטִ֖ים

Moreover four

wə·’ar·ba·‘aṯ

וְאַרְבַּ֥עַת

thousand [were]

wə·’ar·ba·‘aṯ

וְאַרְבַּ֤עַת

מְהַֽלְלִ֣ים

with the instruments

way·ye·ḥā·lə·qêm

וַיֶּֽחָלְקֵ֥ם

into courses

maḥ·lə·qō·wṯ;

according to the sons

lə·ḡê·rə·šō·wn

לְגֵרְשׁ֖וֹן

Of the Gershonites [were]

lag·gê·rə·šun·nî

לַגֵּרְשֻׁנִּ֖י

וְשִׁמְעִֽי׃

the chief [was]

[šə·lō·mō·wṯ

(šə·lō·w·mîṯ

(שְׁלֹומִ֧ית

wa·ḥă·zî·’êl

These [were]

of the fathers

לְלַעְדָּֽן׃

and the sons

of Shimei [were]

ū·ḇə·rî·‘āh;

These [were]

אַרְבָּעָֽה׃

therefore they were

וַיִּֽהְיוּ֙

of [their] according to father

lip̄·qud·dāh

wə·‘uz·zî·’êl

וְעֻזִּיאֵ֖ל

אַרְבָּעָֽה׃

and was separated

way·yib·bā·ḏêl

וַיִּבָּדֵ֣ל

lə·haq·dî·šōw

לְֽהַקְדִּישׁוֹ֩

and his sons

lə·šā·rə·ṯōw

and to him and to bless

[concerning] Now Moses

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm;

yiq·qā·rə·’ū

of Moses [were]

we·’ĕ·lî·‘e·zer.

וֶאֱלִיעֶֽזֶר׃

Shebuel [was]

וַיִּֽהְי֥וּ

of Eliezer [were]

’ĕ·lî·‘e·zer

le·’ĕ·lî·‘e·zer

לֶאֱלִיעֶ֙זֶר֙

but the sons

lə·mā·‘ə·lāh.

the Jahaziel

ya·ḥă·zî·’êl

haš·šə·lî·šî,

הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י

the Jekameam

וִֽיקַמְעָ֖ם

hā·rə·ḇî·‘î.

הָרְבִיעִֽי׃

wə·yiš·šî·yāh

וְיִשִּׁיָּ֖ה

way·yiś·śā·’ūm

וַיִּשָּׂא֥וּם

their brothers

These [were]

after the house

of their fathers

’ă·ḇō·ṯê·hem

[even] the chief

of the fathers

as they were counted

lip̄·qū·ḏê·hem,

לִפְקוּדֵיהֶ֗ם

in the number

בְּמִסְפַּ֤ר

by their census

lə·ḡul·gə·lō·ṯām,

לְגֻלְגְּלֹתָ֔ם

ham·mə·lā·ḵāh,

הַמְּלָאכָ֔ה

for the service

la·‘ă·ḇō·ḏaṯ

of the house

from the age

wā·mā·‘ə·lāh.

has given rest

to His people

that they may dwell

וַיִּשְׁכֹּ֥ן

in Jerusalem

bî·rū·šā·lim

בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

lə·‘ō·w·lām.

to the Levites

they shall no

[more] carry

הַמִּשְׁכָּ֛ן

for its service

la·‘ă·ḇō·ḏā·ṯōw.

לַעֲבֹדָתֽוֹ׃

For by the last

hā·’a·ḥă·rō·nîm,

הָאַ֣חֲרֹנִ֔ים

[were] numbered

ū·lə·mā·‘ə·lāh.

וּלְמָֽעְלָה׃

For their office [was]

ma·‘ă·mā·ḏām

with the service

la·‘ă·ḇō·ḏaṯ

of the house

ha·ḥă·ṣê·rō·wṯ

the chambers

hal·lə·šā·ḵō·wṯ,

הַלְּשָׁכ֔וֹת

the purifying

and the work

ū·ma·‘ă·śêh,

וּמַֽעֲשֵׂ֔ה

of the service

of the house

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm.

הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃

and with the showbread

ham·ma·‘ă·re·ḵeṯ

הַֽמַּעֲרֶ֜כֶת

for the fine flour

for a grain offering

wə·lir·qî·qê

וְלִרְקִיקֵ֣י

for the unleavened bread

ham·maṣ·ṣō·wṯ,

and [that that is baked in] and for the pan

wə·lam·ma·ḥă·ḇaṯ

וְלַֽמַּחֲבַ֖ת

for that which is fried

wə·lam·mur·bā·ḵeṯ;

וְלַמֻּרְבָּ֑כֶת

for all manner

And to stand

wə·la·‘ă·mōḏ

ū·lə·hal·lêl

and likewise

burnt sacrifices

on the Sabbaths

laš·šab·bā·ṯō·wṯ,

לַשַּׁבָּת֔וֹת

in the new moons

le·ḥo·ḏā·šîm

לֶחֳדָשִׁ֖ים

and on the set feasts

wə·lam·mō·‘ă·ḏîm;

וְלַמֹּעֲדִ֑ים

in the number

בְּמִסְפָּ֨ר

according to the order

כְּמִשְׁפָּ֧ט

commanded to them

and they should keep

of the Holy [Place]

and the charge

ū·miš·me·reṯ

וּמִשְׁמֶ֕רֶת

their brothers

for the service

la·‘ă·ḇō·ḏaṯ

of the house
