וַיִּשָּׁקֵ֑הוּ

has anointed

[Is it] the LORD

na·ḥă·lā·ṯōw

When you are departed me

bə·leḵ·tə·ḵā

בְּלֶכְתְּךָ֤

mê·‘im·mā·ḏî,

then you shall find

in the territory

and they will say

are found you

hā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ

of the donkeys

hā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ,

Then shall you go on

wə·ḥā·lap̄·tā

וְחָלַפְתָּ֨

wā·hā·lə·’āh,

and you shall come

and shall meet

ū·mə·ṣā·’ū·ḵā

וּמְצָא֤וּךָ

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

kik·kə·rō·wṯ

And they will

lə·šā·lō·wm;

you and give

[loaves] of bread

and that you shall receive

wə·lā·qaḥ·tā

וְלָקַחְתָּ֖

from their hand

after that you

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

[is] the garrison

of the Philistines

p̄ə·liš·tîm;

פְלִשְׁתִּ֑ים

it shall come to pass

when you have come

that you shall meet

ū·p̄ā·ḡa‘·tā

וּפָגַעְתָּ֞

from the high

mê·hab·bā·māh,

מֵֽהַבָּמָ֔ה

wə·lip̄·nê·hem

וְלִפְנֵיהֶ֞ם

with a psaltery

and a tabret

and a harp them

wə·ḵin·nō·wr,

shall prophesy

miṯ·nab·bə·’îm.

מִֽתְנַבְּאִֽים׃

and will come

wə·ṣā·lə·ḥāh

you and you shall prophesy

wə·hiṯ·nab·bî·ṯā

וְהִתְנַבִּ֖יתָ

and shall be turned

wə·neh·paḵ·tā

וְנֶהְפַּכְתָּ֖

into another

and let it be

[ṯə·ḇō·’e·nāh

as occasion serve

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm

And you shall go down

wə·yā·raḏ·tā

וְיָרַדְתָּ֣

הַגִּלְגָּל֒

will come down

lə·ha·‘ă·lō·wṯ

burnt offerings

to sacrifice

of peace offerings

shall you stay

wə·hō·w·ḏa‘·tî

וְהוֹדַעְתִּ֣י

you shall do

[so] that when he had turned

kə·hap̄·nō·ṯōw

כְּהַפְנֹת֤וֹ

way·ya·hă·p̄āḵ-

וַיַּהֲפָךְ־

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

when they came

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

hag·giḇ·‘ā·ṯāh,

הַגִּבְעָ֔תָה

and the Spirit

and he prophesied

way·yiṯ·nab·bê

וַיִּתְנַבֵּ֖א

bə·ṯō·w·ḵām.

And it came to pass

mê·’it·tə·mō·wl

מֵאִתְּמ֣וֹל

before that time

the prophets

he prophesied

among the prophets

ban·nə·ḇî·’îm.

בַּנְּבִיאִֽים׃

And answered

of the same place

their father

among the prophets

ban·nə·ḇi·’îm.

בַּנְּבִאִֽים׃

when he had finished

of prophesying

mê·hiṯ·nab·bō·wṯ,

מֵֽהִתְנַבּ֔וֹת

to the high place

and ye? And he said

hā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ,

הָ֣אֲתֹנ֔וֹת

[they were] no where

that the donkeys

hā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ;

of the matter

of the kingdom

ham·mə·lū·ḵāh

הַמְּלוּכָה֙

do But he did not tell

ham·miṣ·pāh.

הַמִּצְפָּֽה׃

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ׀

of the Egyptians

mim·miṣ·rā·yim;

מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם

and delivered

out of the hand

of the Egyptians

and out of the hand

ham·mam·lā·ḵō·wṯ,

הַמַּמְלָכ֔וֹת

of those who oppressed

hal·lō·ḥă·ṣîm

הַלֹּחֲצִ֖ים

have this day

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem,

your adversities

rā·‘ō·w·ṯê·ḵem

רָעוֹתֵיכֶ֣ם

and your tribulations

wə·ṣā·rō·ṯê·ḵem

וְצָרֹֽתֵיכֶם֒

and you have said

wat·tō·mə·rū

וַתֹּ֣אמְרוּ

therefore present yourselves

hiṯ·yaṣ·ṣə·ḇū

הִֽתְיַצְּבוּ֙

yourselves before

by your tribes

lə·šiḇ·ṭê·ḵem

לְשִׁבְטֵיכֶ֖ם

and by your thousands

ū·lə·’al·p̄ê·ḵem.

וּלְאַלְפֵיכֶֽם׃

when to come near

and was taken

way·yil·lā·ḵêḏ

וַיִּלָּכֵ֖ד

בִּנְיָמִֽן׃

and to come near

When he had caused the tribes

[lə·miš·pə·ḥō·ṯōw

[לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתֹו

by their families

(lə·miš·pə·ḥō·ṯāw,

(לְמִשְׁפְּחֹתָ֔יו

and was taken

wat·til·lā·ḵêḏ

וַתִּלָּכֵ֖ד

מִשְׁפַּ֣חַת

and was taken

way·yil·lā·ḵêḏ

וַיִּלָּכֵד֙

when they sought him

way·ḇaq·šu·hū

וַיְבַקְשֻׁ֖הוּ

he could not

Therefore they inquired

way·yiš·’ă·lū-

וַיִּשְׁאֲלוּ־

And answered

has hid himself

And they ran

way·yā·ru·ṣū

וַיָּרֻ֙צוּ֙

and fetched him

way·yiq·qā·ḥu·hū

וַיִּקָּחֻ֣הוּ

when he stood

way·yiṯ·yaṣ·ṣêḇ

וַיִּתְיַצֵּ֖ב

and he was higher

וַיִּגְבַּהּ֙

of the people

from his shoulders

מִשִּׁכְמ֖וֹ

wā·mā·‘ə·lāh.

har·rə·’î·ṯem

הַרְּאִיתֶם֙

way·yā·ri·‘ū

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ

of the kingdom

ham·mə·lu·ḵāh,

and wrote [it]

וַיִּכְתֹּ֣ב

in a book [it]

bas·sê·p̄er,

and laid [it] up

וַיְשַׁלַּ֧ח

to his house

to his house

and there went

way·yê·lə·ḵū

a band of men

But the children

ḇə·lî·ya·‘al

יֹּשִׁעֵ֙נוּ֙

us? And they despised him

way·yiḇ·zu·hū

וַיִּבְזֻ֕הוּ

he held his peace

kə·ma·ḥă·rîš.

כְּמַחֲרִֽישׁ׃
