Then came up

hā·‘am·mō·w·nî,

הָֽעַמּוֹנִ֔י

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ

and with us and we will serve

wə·na·‘aḇ·ḏe·kā.

וְנַעַבְדֶֽךָּ׃

and answered

Ammonite them

hā·‘am·mō·w·nî,

הָעַמּוֹנִ֔י

[condition] will I make

that I may thrust out

wə·śam·tî·hā

וְשַׂמְתִּ֥יהָ

[for] it a reproach

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֨וּ

Give us seven

that we may send

wə·niš·lə·ḥāh

וְנִשְׁלְחָה֙

and we will come out

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

the messengers

ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm

הַמַּלְאָכִים֙

way·ḏab·bə·rū

וַיְדַבְּר֥וּ

had·də·ḇā·rîm

הַדְּבָרִ֖ים

in the hearing

of the people

and lifted up

וַיִּשְׂא֧וּ

their voices

וַיִּבְכּֽוּ׃

[aileth] the people

And they told

way·sap·pə·rū-

וַיְסַ֨פְּרוּ־

[bə·šā·mə·‘ōw

[בְּשָׁמְעֹו

when he heard

(kə·šā·mə·‘ōw

(כְּשָׁמְעֹ֖ו

had·də·ḇā·rîm

הַדְּבָרִ֣ים

and was kindled

and cut them in pieces

way·nat·tə·ḥê·hū,

וַֽיְנַתְּחֵ֗הוּ

וַיְשַׁלַּ֞ח

throughout all

[them] the coasts

of messengers

ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm

הַמַּלְאָכִ֣ים ׀

comes not forth

shall it be done

and they came out

way·yê·ṣə·’ū

when he numbered them

way·yip̄·qə·ḏêm

וַֽיִּפְקְדֵ֖ם

the children

And they said

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֞וּ

to the messengers

lam·mal·’ā·ḵîm

לַמַּלְאָכִ֣ים

shall you say

you shall have

[that time] by the sun

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

the messengers

ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm,

הַמַּלְאָכִ֗ים

way·yag·gî·ḏū

וַיַּגִּ֛ידוּ

and they were glad

way·yiś·mā·ḥū.

וַיִּשְׂמָֽחוּ׃

way·yō·mə·rū

וַֽיֹּאמְרוּ֙

Therefore the men

we will come out

and you shall do

wa·‘ă·śî·ṯem

וַעֲשִׂיתֶ֣ם

bə·‘ê·nê·ḵem.

בְּעֵינֵיכֶֽם׃

[so] on the next day

mim·mā·ḥo·rāṯ,

מִֽמָּחֳרָ֗ת

and they came

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

into the midst

ham·ma·ḥă·neh

הַֽמַּחֲנֶה֙

bə·’aš·mō·reṯ

בְּאַשְׁמֹ֣רֶת

in the morning

the Ammonites

that it came to pass

they who remained

han·niš·’ā·rîm

הַנִּשְׁאָרִים֙

and were scattered

way·yā·p̄u·ṣū,

[is] shall he who said

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

הָאֲנָשִׁ֖ים

that we may put them to death

ū·nə·mî·ṯêm.

וּנְמִיתֵֽם׃

do be put to death

bə·yiś·rā·’êl.

בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

and let us go

wə·nê·lə·ḵāh

hag·gil·gāl;

הַגִּלְגָּ֑ל

ū·nə·ḥad·dêš

וּנְחַדֵּ֥שׁ

ham·mə·lū·ḵāh.

הַמְּלוּכָֽה׃

way·yê·lə·ḵū

hag·gil·gāl,

הַגִּלְגָּ֗ל

way·yam·li·ḵū

וַיַּמְלִכוּ֩

bag·gil·gāl,

בַּגִּלְגָּ֔ל

and they sacrificed

way·yiz·bə·ḥū-

וַיִּזְבְּחוּ־

of peace offerings

וַיִּשְׂמַ֨ח
