Now there was

(מִבִּנְיָמִ֗ין

and whose name [was]

a mighty man

and whose name [was]

a choice young man

and a goodly

[there was] among the children

among the children

from his shoulders

מִשִּׁכְמ֣וֹ

[he was] higher

of the people

And were lost

wat·tō·ḇaḏ·nāh

וַתֹּאבַ֙דְנָה֙

hā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ,

of the servants

mê·han·nə·‘ā·rîm,

מֵֽהַנְּעָרִ֔ים

you and arise

hā·’ă·ṯō·nōṯ.

And he passed through

way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr

and passed through

way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr

do they found

[them] then they passed through

way·ya·‘aḇ·rū

וַיַּעַבְר֤וּ

do [there they were] and he passed through

way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr

do they found

to his servant

lə·na·‘ă·rōw

and let us return

wə·nā·šū·ḇāh;

וְנָשׁ֑וּבָה

[caring] the donkeys

hā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ

and take thought

[there is] city

[he is] and a honorable

surely to pass

דַּרְכֵּ֖נוּ

we should go

to his servant

lə·na·‘ă·rōw,

shall we bring

from our sack

mik·kê·lê·nū,

מִכֵּלֵ֔ינוּ

[there is] a present

וּתְשׁוּרָ֥ה

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm;

the fourth part

[that] will I give

wə·nā·ṯat·tî

וְנָֽתַתִּי֙

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm,

דַּרְכֵּֽנוּ׃

bə·yiś·rā·’êl,

בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל

בְּלֶכְתּוֹ֙

and let us go

wə·nê·lə·ḵāh

[he who is called] a prophet

[he that is] now

was formerly

to his servant

lə·na·‘ă·rōw

so they went

way·yê·lə·ḵū

וַיֵּֽלְכוּ֙

hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm.

הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃

bə·ma·‘ă·lêh

young maidens

nə·‘ā·rō·wṯ,

way·yō·mə·rū

וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ

And they answered

wat·ta·‘ă·ne·nāh

וַתַּעֲנֶ֧ינָה

wat·tō·mar·nāh

וַתֹּאמַ֥רְנָה

[he is] before

lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā;

for he has come

into the city

[there is] a sacrifice

for the people

As soon as you enter

kə·ḇō·’ă·ḵem

into the city

you shall straightway

תִּמְצְא֣וּן

to the high place

hab·bā·mā·ṯāh

for the people

the sacrifice

that be bidden

haq·qə·ru·’îm;

הַקְּרֻאִ֑ים

therefore get you up

about this time

ḵə·hay·yō·wm

you shall find

תִּמְצְא֥וּן

And they went up

way·ya·‘ă·lū

וַֽיַּעֲל֖וּ

into the city

As they came

into the city

out toward them

for to go up

to the high place

Now the LORD

about this time

from the land

and you shall anoint

ū·mə·šaḥ·tōw

וּמְשַׁחְתּ֤וֹ

[to be] him captain

that he may save

wə·hō·wō·šî·a‘

וְהוֹשִׁ֥יעַ

from the hand

of the Philistines

פְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים

I have looked on

ṣa·‘ă·qā·ṯōw

וּשְׁמוּאֵ֖ל

of ! this same

over My people

Then drew near

And answered

I am the seer

to the high place

for you shall eat

wa·’ă·ḵal·tem

וַאֲכַלְתֶּ֥ם

and I will let you go

wə·šil·laḥ·tî·ḵā

וְשִׁלַּחְתִּ֣יךָ

tomorrow you

[is] in your heart

bil·ḇā·ḇə·ḵā

בִּֽלְבָבְךָ֖

and as for your donkeys

wə·lā·’ă·ṯō·nō·wṯ

וְלָאֲתֹנ֞וֹת

hā·’ō·ḇə·ḏō·wṯ

they are found

[is] the desire

of your father

And answered

[Am] a Benjamite

of the smallest

miq·qa·ṭan·nê

מִקַּטַנֵּי֙

of the tribes

and the my family

ū·miš·paḥ·tî

וּמִשְׁפַּחְתִּי֙

haṣ·ṣə·‘i·rāh,

the families

miš·pə·ḥō·wṯ

מִשְׁפְּח֖וֹת

of the tribes

דִּבַּ֣רְתָּ

to me in this

and brought them

into the parlor

לִשְׁכָּ֑תָה

and made them sit

among those who were bidden

haq·qə·rū·’îm,

הַקְּרוּאִ֔ים

and that [were]

about thirty

כִּשְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים

laṭ·ṭab·bāḥ,

the shoulder

wə·he·‘ā·le·hā

וְהֶעָלֶ֜יהָ

and set [it]

וַיָּ֣שֶׂם ׀

[Samuel] And [Samuel] said

the remainder

הַנִּשְׁאָר֙

lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā

until the appointed

lam·mō·w·‘êḏ

has it been kept

for you since I said

I have invited

when they came down

way·yê·rə·ḏū

from the high

mê·hab·bā·māh

into the city

[Samuel] talked

the top of the house

And they arose early

way·yaš·ki·mū,

וַיַּשְׁכִּ֗מוּ

and it came to pass

about the spring

to the top of the house

that I may send you away

wa·’ă·šal·lə·ḥe·kā;

וַאֲשַׁלְּחֶ֑ךָּ

and they went out

way·yê·ṣə·’ū

וּשְׁמוּאֵ֖ל

were going down

וּשְׁמוּאֵ֞ל

to the servant

wə·ya·‘ă·ḇōr

lə·p̄ā·nê·nū

and he passed on

way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr;

וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֑ר

but stand you still

that I may show you

wə·’aš·mî·‘ă·ḵā

וְאַשְׁמִיעֲךָ֖
