וַֽיַּעֲבֹד֙

and worshiped

way·yiš·ta·ḥū

וַיִּשְׁתַּ֖חוּ

either the sun

wə·laš·še·meš

וְלַשֶּׁ֣מֶשׁ ׀

lay·yā·rê·aḥ,

haš·šā·ma·yim

הַשָּׁמַ֖יִם

do commanded

And it be told

and you have heard

wə·šā·mā·‘ə·tā;

וְשָׁמָ֑עְתָּ

[of it] and inquired

wə·ḏā·raš·tā

וְדָרַשְׁתָּ֣

[it be] true

[that] abomination

hat·tō·w·‘ê·ḇāh

הַתּוֹעֵבָ֥ה

bə·yiś·rā·’êl.

בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

Then shall you bring forth

wə·hō·w·ṣê·ṯā

וְהֽוֹצֵאתָ֣

have committed

šə·‘ā·re·ḵā,

[even] that man

and shall stone them

ū·sə·qal·tām

וּסְקַלְתָּ֥ם

bā·’ă·ḇā·nîm

בָּאֲבָנִ֖ים

and until they die

shall he who is worthy of death

be put to death

do be put to death

[but] the mouth

of the witnesses

ḇā·ri·šō·nāh

בָרִאשֹׁנָה֙

against him to put

la·hă·mî·ṯōw,

and the hands

bā·’a·ḥă·rō·nāh;

בָּאַחֲרֹנָ֑ה

וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥

from your midst

miq·qir·be·ḵā.

מִקִּרְבֶּֽךָ׃

there arise a matter too hard

lam·miš·pāṭ,

לַמִּשְׁפָּ֗ט

of controversy

in your courts

biš·‘ā·re·ḵā;

בִּשְׁעָרֶ֑יךָ

shall choose

and you shall come

hak·kō·hă·nîm

הַכֹּהֲנִים֙

haš·šō·p̄êṭ,

wə·ḏā·raš·tā

וְדָרַשְׁתָּ֙

and they shall show

wə·hig·gî·ḏū

וְהִגִּ֣ידוּ

the sentence

ham·miš·pāṭ.

הַמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃

And you shall do

wə·‘ā·śî·ṯā,

to the terms

the sentence

ham·mā·qō·wm

shall choose

you and you shall observe

wə·šā·mar·tā

וְשָׁמַרְתָּ֣

la·‘ă·śō·wṯ,

according to all

According to

the sentence

they shall teach you

and according to

the judgment

הַמִּשְׁפָּ֛ט

they shall tell

you shall do

the sentence

they shall show

the right hand

[to] nor the left

presumptuously

ḇə·zā·ḏō·wn,

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,

haš·šō·p̄êṭ;

and shall die

and you shall put away

וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥

mî·yiś·rā·’êl.

מִיִּשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

wə·yi·rā·’ū;

do presumptuously

you have come

and shall possess it

וִֽירִשְׁתָּ֖הּ

and shall dwell

wə·yā·šaḇ·tāh

וְיָשַׁ֣בְתָּה

and shall say

wə·’ā·mar·tā,

וְאָמַרְתָּ֗

hag·gō·w·yim

sə·ḇî·ḇō·ṯāy.

סְבִיבֹתָֽי׃

shall you set

[him] king you

shall choose

[one] from among

your brothers

shall you set

[is] your brother

cause the people

miṣ·ray·māh,

מִצְרַ֔יְמָה

to the end that

he should multiply

forasmuch as the LORD

shall you from now on

shall he multiply

do will turn

that his heart

and to himself silver

shall he greatly

when it shall be

כְשִׁבְתּ֔וֹ

of his kingdom

mam·laḵ·tōw;

מַמְלַכְתּ֑וֹ

that he shall write

for himself a copy

hat·tō·w·rāh

in the presence

hak·kō·hă·nîm

הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים

הַלְוִיִּֽם׃

And it shall be

wə·hā·yə·ṯāh

and he shall read

to the end that

he may learn

hat·tō·w·rāh

by carefully

la·‘ă·śō·ṯām.

לַעֲשֹׂתָֽם׃

do lifted up

That his heart

above his brothers

that he turn not aside

וּלְבִלְתִּ֛י

above his brothers

from the command

[to] the right hand

[to] or the left

to the end that

he may prolong

מַמְלַכְתּ֛וֹ

and his children

in the midst

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
