bā·’ă·ḏā·māh

לְרִשְׁתָּ֔הּ

Then shall come forth

and your judges

wə·šō·p̄ə·ṭe·ḵā;

וְשֹׁפְטֶ֑יךָ

and they shall measure

who is slain

And it shall be

[that] the city

[which is] next

haq·qə·rō·ḇāh

the slain man

and shall take

even the elders

of that city

do been worked

And shall bring down

wə·hō·w·ri·ḏū

of that city

yiz·zā·rê·a‘;

wə·‘ā·rə·p̄ū-

of the heifer

in the valley

And shall come near

wə·nig·gə·šū

וְנִגְּשׁ֣וּ

hak·kō·hă·nîm

הַכֹּהֲנִים֮

has chosen them

lə·šā·rə·ṯōw,

לְשָׁ֣רְת֔וֹ

and to bless

of that city

[that are] next

haq·qə·rō·ḇîm

הַקְּרֹבִ֖ים

[man] shall wash

that is beheaded

hā·‘ă·rū·p̄āh

in the valley

And they shall answer

wə·’ā·mə·rū;

and have our eyes

וְעֵינֵ֖ינוּ

to your people

lə·‘am·mə·ḵā

you have redeemed

in the midst

to your people

and shall be forgiven

wə·nik·kap·pêr

וְנִכַּפֵּ֥ר

so shall you

[guilt of] the innocent

from your midst you

miq·qir·be·ḵā;

מִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָ

you shall do

[that that is] right

you go forth

lam·mil·ḥā·māh

לַמִּלְחָמָ֖ה

your enemies

’ō·yə·ḇe·ḵā;

and has delivered

your God them

into your hands

and you have taken

among the captives

baš·šiḇ·yāh,

בַּשִּׁבְיָ֔ה

and have a desire

wə·ḥā·šaq·tā

וְחָשַׁקְתָּ֣

that you would have

wə·lā·qaḥ·tā

וְלָקַחְתָּ֥

to your wife

Then you shall bring

wa·hă·ḇê·ṯāh

וַהֲבֵאתָ֖הּ

to your house

and she shall shave

wə·ḡil·lə·ḥāh

wə·‘ā·śə·ṯāh

ṣip·pā·rə·ne·hā.

צִפָּרְנֶֽיהָ׃

And she shall put

wə·hê·sî·rāh

וְהֵסִ֩ירָה֩

the garments

from off her

mê·‘ā·le·hā,

and shall remain

wə·yā·šə·ḇāh

וְיָֽשְׁבָה֙

in your house

bə·ḇê·ṯe·ḵā,

you shall go in

and be her husband

ū·ḇə·‘al·tāh,

וּבְעַלְתָּ֔הּ

and she shall be

wə·hā·yə·ṯāh

And it shall be

then you shall let her go

wə·šil·laḥ·tāh

וְשִׁלַּחְתָּהּ֙

where she will

lə·nap̄·šāh,

לְנַפְשָׁ֔הּ

and sell her at all

do sell her at all

ṯim·kə·ren·nāh

תִמְכְּרֶ֖נָּה

bak·kā·sep̄;

do make merchandise

you have humbled

עִנִּיתָֽהּ׃

wə·hā·’a·ḥaṯ

and they have born

wə·yā·lə·ḏū-

[both] the beloved

hā·’ă·hū·ḇāh

and the hated

wə·haś·śə·nū·’āh;

וְהַשְּׂנוּאָ֑ה

[if] and the firstborn

hab·bə·ḵō·wr

hers that was hated

laś·śə·nî·’āh.

לַשְּׂנִיאָֽה׃

Then it shall be

do [that] he may

[which is indeed] the firstborn

of the beloved

hā·’ă·hū·ḇāh,

הָ֣אֲהוּבָ֔ה

of the hated

haś·śə·nū·’āh

הַשְּׂנוּאָ֖ה

is the firstborn

[for] the firstborn

of the hated

haś·śə·nū·’āh

הַשְּׂנוּאָ֜ה

But he shall acknowledge

[is] the beginning

of his strength

belongs the right

of the firstborn

hab·bə·ḵō·rāh.

הַבְּכֹרָֽה׃

and rebellious

of his father

of his mother

[that] when they have chastened

wə·yis·sə·rū

and lay hold

wə·ṯā·p̄ə·śū

Then shall his father

and his mother

on him and bring him out

wə·hō·w·ṣî·’ū

וְהוֹצִ֧יאוּ

of his hometown

And they shall say

[is] stubborn

and rebellious

bə·qō·lê·nū;

[he is] a glutton

and shall stone

ū·rə·ḡā·mu·hū

וּ֠רְגָמֻהוּ

of his city him

ḇā·’ă·ḇā·nîm

בָֽאֲבָנִים֙

וּבִֽעַרְתָּ֥

from your midst you

miq·qir·be·ḵā;

מִקִּרְבֶּ֑ךָ

wə·yi·rā·’ū.

have committed

and he be to be put to death

and you hang

do remain all night

you shall in any way

tiq·bə·ren·nū

תִּקְבְּרֶ֙נּוּ֙

[is] accursed

he who is hanged

that your land

’aḏ·mā·ṯə·ḵā,

אַדְמָ֣תְךָ֔

’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā,

[for] you an inheritance
