פִּשְׁתִּ֔ים

וְשַׂמְתּ֖וֹ

mā·ṯə·ne·ḵā;

צִוִּיתִ֖יךָ

ham·mā·qō·wm

טְמַנְתִּ֣יו

hā·’ê·zō·wr,

do it was profitable

After this manner

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם

ham·mê·’ă·nîm

הַֽמֵּאֲנִ֣ים ׀

ha·hō·lə·ḵîm

הַהֹֽלְכִים֙

in the stubbornness

בִּשְׁרִר֣וּת

of their hearts

way·yê·lə·ḵū,

to serve them

lə·‘ā·ḇə·ḏām

and to worship

ū·lə·hiš·ta·ḥă·wōṯ

וּלְהִשְׁתַּחֲוֹ֣ת

shall even be

have I caused to cleave

הִדְבַּ֣קְתִּי

that they might be

for a people

and for a praise

wə·liṯ·hil·lāh

וְלִתְהִלָּ֖ה

ū·lə·ṯip̄·’ā·reṯ;

וּלְתִפְאָ֑רֶת

they would not

Therefore you shall speak

wə·’ā·mar·tā

וְאָמַרְתָּ֨

shall be filled

and they shall say

certainly know you

do certainly know

shall be filled

Then shall you say

wə·’ā·mar·tā

וְאָמַרְתָּ֨

the inhabitants

ham·mə·lā·ḵîm

הַמְּלָכִ֣ים

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּשְׁבִים֩

hak·kō·hă·nîm

הַכֹּהֲנִ֣ים

the prophets

han·nə·ḇî·’îm,

הַנְּבִיאִ֗ים

the inhabitants

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim

יְרוּשָׁלִָ֖ם

with drunkenness

šik·kā·rō·wn.

שִׁכָּרֽוֹן׃

And I will dash them

wə·nip·paṣ·tîm

וְנִפַּצְתִּים֩

and even the fathers

wə·hā·’ā·ḇō·wṯ

and the sons

wə·hab·bā·nîm

וְהַבָּנִ֛ים

mê·haš·ḥî·ṯām.

מֵהַשְׁחִיתָֽם׃

you and give ear

wə·ha·’ă·zî·nū

וְהַאֲזִ֖ינוּ

תִּגְבָּ֑הוּ

’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem

he cause darkness

yiṯ·nag·gə·p̄ū

יִֽתְנַגְּפ֥וּ

and while you look

wə·qiw·wî·ṯem

וְקִוִּיתֶ֤ם

it into the shadow of death

lə·ṣal·mā·weṯ,

לְצַלְמָ֔וֶת

gross darkness

la·‘ă·rā·p̄el.

ṯiš·mā·‘ū·hā,

תִשְׁמָע֔וּהָ

bə·mis·tā·rîm

בְּמִסְתָּרִ֥ים

shall weep it

[your] pride

and shall weep

and run down

is carried away captive

and to the queen

wə·lag·gə·ḇî·rāh

וְלַגְּבִירָ֖ה

Humble yourselves

הַשְׁפִּ֣ילוּ

shall come down

your principalities

mar·’ă·šō·w·ṯê·ḵem,

מַרְאֲשׁ֣וֹתֵיכֶ֔ם

[even] the crown

of your glory

tip̄·’ar·tə·ḵem.

תִּֽפְאַרְתְּכֶֽם׃

of the south

shall be shut up

shall be carried away captive

[them] Judah

carried away captive

it shall be wholly

šə·lō·w·mîm.

שְׁלוֹמִֽים׃

those who come

from the north

miṣ·ṣā·p̄ō·wn;

[is] the flock

[that] was given

Your beautiful

tip̄·’ar·têḵ.

תִּפְאַרְתֵּֽךְ׃

will you say

and thee? for you

[to be] them captains

in childbirth

in your heart

בִּלְבָבֵ֔ךְ

these things

to me Because of the magnitude

of your iniquity

are your skirts

‘ă·qê·ḇā·yiḵ.

עֲקֵבָֽיִךְ׃

hă·ya·hă·p̄ōḵ

Can the Ethiopian

or the leopard

ḥă·ḇar·bu·rō·ṯāw;

חֲבַרְבֻּרֹתָ֑יו

that are accustomed

Therefore will I scatter them

wa·’ă·p̄î·ṣêm

as the stubble

that passes away

To the wilderness

[is] your lot

of your measures

you have forgotten

wat·tiḇ·ṭə·ḥî

וַֽתִּבְטְחִ֖י

in falsehood

בַּשָּֽׁקֶר׃

Therefore also

חָשַׂ֥פְתִּי

that may appear

qə·lō·w·nêḵ.

your adulteries

ni·’u·p̄a·yiḵ

נִֽאֻפַ֤יִךְ

and your neighings

ū·miṣ·hă·lō·w·ṯa·yiḵ

וּמִצְהֲלוֹתַ֙יִךְ֙

the lewdness

of your prostitution

in the field

your abominations

šiq·qū·ṣā·yiḵ;

שִׁקּוּצָ֑יִךְ

yə·rū·šā·lim,

יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם

do be made clean
