יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ

hay·yə·hū·ḏîm,

הַיְּהוּדִ֔ים

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים

הַיֹּשְׁבִ֤ים

בְּמִגְדֹּל֙

and at Tahpanhes

ū·ḇə·ṯaḥ·pan·ḥês

וּבְתַחְפַּנְחֵ֣ס

and in the country

I have brought

yə·rū·šā·lim,

יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם

[are] they a desolation

of their wickedness

they have committed

to provoke me to anger

lə·haḵ·‘i·sê·nî,

לְהַכְעִסֵ֔נִי

by continuing

do they knew

[neither] nor your fathers

wa·’ă·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem.

וַאֲבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

and however I sent

the prophets

han·nə·ḇî·’îm,

הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים

swelling early

[them] saying

hat·tō·‘ê·ḇāh

do they listened

from their wickedness

mê·rā·‘ā·ṯām;

and was poured forth

and my anger

and was kindled

in the cities

and in the streets

ū·ḇə·ḥu·ṣō·wṯ

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim;

יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

and they are

wat·tih·ye·nāh

וַתִּהְיֶ֛ינָה

lə·ḥā·rə·bāh

Therefore now

[this] great

nap̄·šō·ṯê·ḵem,

נַפְשֹׁ֣תֵכֶ֔ם

from you man

and suckling

In that you provoke me to wrath

lə·haḵ·‘i·sê·nî

לְהַכְעִסֵ֙נִי֙

with the works

בְּמַעֲשֵׂ֣י

of your hands

burning incense

to the end that

you might cut yourselves off

and to the end that

you might be

hĕ·yō·wṯ·ḵem

הֱיֽוֹתְכֶם֙

and a reproach

ū·lə·ḥer·pāh,

וּלְחֶרְפָּ֔ה

of the earth

Have you forgotten

הַֽשְׁכַחְתֶּם֩

the wickedness

of your fathers

’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem

אֲבוֹתֵיכֶ֜ם

the wickedness

of the kings

the wickedness

of their wives

your own wickedness

rā·‘ō·ṯê·ḵem,

the wickedness

of your wives

they have committed

and in the streets

ū·ḇə·ḥu·ṣō·wṯ

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim.

יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

have they feared

ḇə·ṯō·w·rā·ṯî

בְתֽוֹרָתִי֙

nor in my statutes

ū·ḇə·ḥuq·qō·ṯay,

וּבְחֻקֹּתַ֔י

your fathers

’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem.

אֲבוֹתֵיכֶֽם׃

against you for evil

and to cut off

ū·lə·haḵ·rîṯ

וּלְהַכְרִ֖ית

And I will take

wə·lā·qaḥ·tî

וְלָקַחְתִּ֞י

and be consumed

by the sword

[even] they shall be consumed

from the least

the greatest

by the sword

and by the famine

they shall die

and they shall be

an execration

an astonishment

wə·liq·lā·lāh

וְלִקְלָלָ֖ה

and a reproach

ū·lə·ḥer·pāh.

וּלְחֶרְפָּֽה׃

For I will punish

ū·p̄ā·qaḏ·tî,

וּפָקַדְתִּ֗י

those who dwell

hay·yō·wō·šə·ḇîm

הַיּֽוֹשְׁבִים֙

I have punished

פָּקַ֖דְתִּי

yə·rū·šā·lim;

יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

with the sword

and by the pestilence

ū·ḇad·dā·ḇer.

וּבַדָּֽבֶר׃

for the remnant

לִשְׁאֵרִ֣ית

that are gone

into the land

that they should return

וְלָשׁ֣וּב ׀

into the land

they are longing

mə·naś·śə·’îm

מְנַשְּׂאִ֤ים

shall return

such as shall escape

and answered

way·ya·‘ă·nū

yir·mə·yā·hū,

יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

הָאֲנָשִׁ֤ים

hay·yō·ḏə·‘îm

הַיֹּֽדְעִים֙

had burned incense

mə·qaṭ·ṭə·rō·wṯ

מְקַטְּר֤וֹת

that their wives

that stood by

hā·‘ō·mə·ḏō·wṯ

and even all

that dwelled

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּשְׁבִ֥ים

bə·p̄aṯ·rō·ws

בְּפַתְר֥וֹס

[As for] the word

you have spoken

דִּבַּ֥רְתָּ

we will certainly

from our mouths

to the queen

haš·šā·ma·yim

הַשָּׁמַיִם֮

and to pour out

וְהַסֵּֽיךְ־

drink offerings

we have done

and our fathers

wa·’ă·ḇō·ṯê·nū

וַאֲבֹתֵ֙ינוּ֙

and our princes

wə·śā·rê·nū,

וְשָׂרֵ֔ינוּ

in the cities

and in the streets

ū·ḇə·ḥu·ṣō·wṯ

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim;

יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם

[then] for had we plenty

wan·niś·ba‘-

וַנִּֽשְׂבַּֽע־

וַנִּֽהְיֶ֣ה

to burn incense

to the queen

haš·šā·ma·yim

הַשָּׁמַ֛יִם

and to pour out

drink offerings

we have wanted

and by the sword

and by the famine

[things] and have been consumed

burned incense

mə·qaṭ·ṭə·rîm

מְקַטְּרִים֙

to the queen

haš·šā·ma·yim,

הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם

and poured out

ū·lə·has·sêḵ

וּלְהַסֵּ֥ךְ

drink offerings

hă·mib·bal·‘ă·ḏê

הֲמִֽבַּלְעֲדֵ֣י

’ă·nā·šê·nū,

אֲנָשֵׁ֗ינוּ

for her [sacrificial] cakes

in her image her

lə·ha·‘ă·ṣi·ḇāh,

לְהַ֣עֲצִבָ֔ה

and pour out

drink offerings

yir·mə·yā·hū

יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ

hag·gə·ḇā·rîm

הַגְּבָרִ֤ים

who were giving

[such] an answer

haq·qiṭ·ṭêr,

קִטַּרְתֶּ֜ם

in the cities

and in the streets

ū·ḇə·ḥu·ṣō·wṯ

of Jerusalem

yə·rū·šā·lim,

יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם

and your fathers

wa·’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·ḵem

וַאֲבֽוֹתֵיכֶ֛ם

and your princes

wə·śā·rê·ḵem

וְשָׂרֵיכֶ֖ם

and the people

did not the LORD them

wat·ta·‘ă·leh

וַֽתַּעֲלֶ֖ה

into His mind

So that the LORD

of your deeds

ma·‘al·lê·ḵem,

מַעַלְלֵיכֶ֔ם

of the abominations

hat·tō·w·‘ê·ḇōṯ

הַתּוֹעֵבֹ֖ת

you have committed

therefore is

a desolation

lə·ḥā·rə·bāh

and an astonishment

ū·lə·šam·māh

וּלְשַׁמָּ֧ה

wə·liq·lā·lāh

וְלִקְלָלָ֛ה

an inhabitant

kə·hay·yō·wm

you have burned incense

קִטַּרְתֶּ֜ם

שְׁמַעְתֶּם֙

and in his law

ū·ḇə·ṯō·rā·ṯōw

וּבְתֹרָת֧וֹ

nor in his statutes

ū·ḇə·ḥuq·qō·ṯāw

וּבְחֻקֹּתָ֛יו

nor in his testimonies

ū·ḇə·‘ê·ḏə·wō·ṯāw

וּבְעֵדְוֹתָ֖יו

is happened to

Moreover Jeremiah

yir·mə·yā·hū

יִרְמְיָ֙הוּ֙

and your wives

וּנְשֵׁיכֶ֜ם

and have both spoken

wat·tə·ḏab·bê·rə·nāh

וַתְּדַבֵּ֣רְנָה

with your mouths

and with your hand

וּבִידֵיכֶ֣ם

מִלֵּאתֶ֣ם ׀

We will surely

nə·ḏā·rê·nū,

we have vowed

to the queen

haš·šā·ma·yim,

הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם

and to pour out

ū·lə·has·sêḵ

וּלְהַסֵּ֥ךְ

drink offerings

to her you will surely

tā·qî·mə·nāh

תָּקִ֙ימְנָה֙

ṯa·‘ă·śe·nāh

תַעֲשֶׂ֖ינָה

נִדְרֵיכֶֽם׃

hay·yō·šə·ḇîm

הַיֹּשְׁבִ֖ים

I have sworn

נִשְׁבַּ֜עְתִּי

hag·gā·ḏō·wl

that my name

by the mouth

I will watch

lə·ṭō·w·ḇāh;

and shall be consumed

by the sword

and by the famine

there be an end

kə·lō·w·ṯām.

shall return

into the land

and shall know

that are gone

[shall be] a sign

bam·mā·qō·wm

to the end that

you may know

shall surely

that my words
