בַּשּׁוֹפָרֽוֹת׃

and it shall come to pass

when they make a long blast

בִּמְשֹׁ֣ךְ ׀

of [blast] with the ram

hay·yō·w·ḇêl,

[bə·šā·mə·‘ă·ḵem

[בְּשָׁמְעֲכֶם

when you hear

(kə·šā·mə·‘ă·ḵem

(כְּשָׁמְעֲכֶם֙

of the trumpet

haš·šō·w·p̄ār,

with a great

ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh;

and shall fall down

wə·nā·p̄ə·lāh

תַּחְתֶּ֔יהָ

and shall ascend up

straight before

yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘

hak·kō·hă·nîm,

הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים

of the covenant

and let seven

šō·wp̄·rō·wṯ

שֽׁוֹפְרוֹת֙

of rams horns

[way·yō·mə·rū

[וַיֹּאמְרוּ

(וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙

and let him who is armed

wə·he·ḥā·lūṣ,

וְהֶ֣חָל֔וּץ

And it came to pass

הַכֹּהֲנִ֡ים

of rams horns

הַיּֽוֹבְלִים֙

with the trumpets

בַּשּֽׁוֹפָר֑וֹת

אַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃

And the armed men

wə·he·ḥā·lūṣ

הַכֹּ֣הֲנִ֔ים

הַשּֽׁוֹפָר֑וֹת

and the rearward

wə·ham·’as·sêp̄,

וְהַֽמְאַסֵּ֗ף

hā·’ā·rō·wn,

[the priests] going on

wə·ṯā·qō·w·a‘

with the trumpets

baš·šō·w·p̄ā·rō·wṯ.

בַּשּׁוֹפָרֽוֹת׃

had commanded

yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘

shall you shout

make any noise

תַשְׁמִ֣יעוּ

out of your mouth

[any] shall word

then shall you shout

wa·hă·rî·‘ō·ṯem.

וַהֲרִיעֹתֶֽם׃

so compassed

and they came

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙

into the camp

ham·ma·ḥă·neh,

הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֔ה

way·yā·lî·nū

וַיָּלִ֖ינוּ

bam·ma·ḥă·neh.

בַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃

And rose early

וַיַּשְׁכֵּ֥ם

in the morning

וַיִּשְׂא֥וּ

hak·kō·hă·nîm

הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים

הַיֹּבְלִ֗ים

and the armed men

lip̄·nê·hem,

but the rearward

wə·ham·’as·sêp̄,

וְהַֽמְאַסֵּ֗ף

wə·ṯā·qō·w·a‘

baš·šō·w·p̄ā·rō·wṯ.

בַּשּׁוֹפָרֽוֹת׃

and they compassed

וַיָּסֹ֨בּוּ

and returned

way·yā·šu·ḇū

וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ

into the camp

ham·ma·ḥă·neh;

הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה

And it came to pass

haš·šə·ḇî·‘î,

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֗י

that they rose early

way·yaš·ki·mū

וַיַּשְׁכִּ֙מוּ֙

at the dawning

and compassed

way·yā·sōb·bū

וַיָּסֹ֧בּוּ

כַּמִּשְׁפָּ֥ט

after the same

they compassed

And it came to pass

At the seventh

haš·šə·ḇî·‘îṯ,

הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔ית

when the priests

hak·kō·hă·nîm

הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים

with the trumpets

baš·šō·w·p̄ā·rō·wṯ;

בַּשּׁוֹפָר֑וֹת

yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘

for the LORD

And shall be

wə·hā·yə·ṯāh

[is] that all

haz·zō·w·nāh

her in the house

heḥ·bə·’a·ṯāh,

הֶחְבְּאַ֔תָה

the messengers

ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm

הַמַּלְאָכִ֖ים

šā·lā·ḥə·nū.

שָׁלָֽחְנוּ׃

And you in any way

[yourselves] the accursed thing

[yourselves] you make accursed

תַּחֲרִ֖ימוּ

when you take

ū·lə·qaḥ·tem

וּלְקַחְתֶּ֣ם

the accursed thing

וְשַׂמְתֶּ֞ם

wa·‘ă·ḵar·tem

וַעֲכַרְתֶּ֖ם

and iron [are]

into the treasury

they shall come

[the priests] when blew

way·yiṯ·qə·‘ū

וַֽיִּתְקְע֖וּ

with the trumpets

baš·šō·p̄ā·rō·wṯ;

בַּשֹּֽׁפָר֑וֹת

and it came to pass

when the people

of the trumpet

haš·šō·w·p̄ār,

way·yā·rî·‘ū

וַיָּרִ֤יעוּ

with a great

ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh,

that fell down

תַּחְתֶּ֗יהָ

so that the people

into the city

straight before him

and they took

way·yil·kə·ḏū

וַֽיִּלְכְּד֖וּ

And they utterly destroyed

way·ya·ḥă·rî·mū

וַֽיַּחֲרִ֙ימוּ֙

with the edge

of the sword

and to the two

wə·liš·na·yim

וְלִשְׁנַ֨יִם

hā·’ă·nā·šîm

הָאֲנָשִׁ֜ים

that had spied out

ham·rag·gə·lîm

הַֽמְרַגְּלִ֤ים

yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘,

of the harlot

haz·zō·w·nāh;

and bring out

wə·hō·w·ṣî·’ū

וְהוֹצִ֨יאוּ

נִשְׁבַּעְתֶּ֖ם

way·yā·ḇō·’ū

the young men

han·nə·‘ā·rîm

הַנְּעָרִ֣ים

that were spies

ham·rag·gə·lîm,

הַֽמְרַגְּלִ֗ים

and brought out

way·yō·ṣî·’ū

וַיֹּצִ֡יאוּ

miš·pə·ḥō·w·ṯe·hā

מִשְׁפְּחוֹתֶ֖יהָ

and they brought out

and left them

way·yan·nî·ḥūm,

וַיַּ֨נִּיח֔וּם

lə·ma·ḥă·nêh

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And the city

and the gold

wə·haz·zā·hāḇ,

and the vessels

han·nə·ḥō·šeṯ

הַנְּחֹ֙שֶׁת֙

wə·hab·bar·zel,

וְהַבַּרְזֶ֔ל

into the treasury

of the house

haz·zō·w·nāh

household her

yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘,

and she dwells

in the midst

הֶחְבִּ֙יאָה֙

the messengers

ham·mal·’ā·ḵîm,

הַמַּלְאָכִ֔ים

yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘

וַיַּשְׁבַּ֣ע

yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘,

at that time

Cursed [are]

with [the loss of] his firstborn

he shall lay the foundation

yə·yas·sə·ḏen·nāh,

יְיַסְּדֶ֔נָּה

and in his youngest

ū·ḇiṣ·‘î·rōw

וּבִצְעִיר֖וֹ

[son] shall he set up

də·lā·ṯe·hā.

דְּלָתֶֽיהָ׃

yə·hō·wō·šu·a‘;

throughout all
