וַיִּכְרְת֨וּ

wə·’eš·kō·wl

וְאֶשְׁכּ֤וֹל

and they bore

way·yiś·śā·’u·hū

וַיִּשָּׂאֻ֥הוּ

it between two

בִּשְׁנָ֑יִם

and from there

[they brought] the pomegranates

hā·rim·mō·nîm

הָרִמֹּנִ֖ים

hat·tə·’ê·nîm.

הַתְּאֵנִֽים׃

lam·mā·qō·wm

of the cluster of grapes

hā·’eš·kō·wl,

הָֽאֶשְׁכּ֔וֹל

יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

And they returned

way·yā·šu·ḇū

וַיָּשֻׁ֖בוּ

וַיָּשִׁ֨יבוּ

וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ

šə·laḥ·tā·nū;

שְׁלַחְתָּ֑נוּ

[is] and this

Nevertheless

[are] strong

and the cities [are]

wə·he·‘ā·rîm,

וְהֶֽעָרִ֗ים

and moreover

the children

The Amalekites

of the south

and the Hittites

wə·ha·ḥit·tî

וְ֠הַֽחִתִּי

and the Jebusites

wə·hay·ḇū·sî

וְהַיְבוּסִ֤י

and the Amorites

wə·hā·’ĕ·mō·rî

וְהָֽאֱמֹרִי֙

and the Canaanites

wə·hak·kə·na·‘ă·nî

וְהַֽכְּנַעֲנִי֙

hay·yar·dên.

הַיַּרְדֵּֽן׃

Let us go up

wə·yā·raš·nū

וְיָרַ֣שְׁנוּ

we are well able

wə·hā·’ă·nā·šîm

וְהָ֨אֲנָשִׁ֜ים

We are not able

for they are too

And they brought up

way·yō·w·ṣî·’ū

וַיּוֹצִ֜יאוּ

an evil report

they had searched

the children

through that

we have gone

the inhabitants

yō·wō·šə·ḇe·hā

יוֹשְׁבֶ֙יהָ֙

הַנְּפִילִ֛ים

[which come] the giants

בְעֵינֵ֙ינוּ֙

as grasshoppers

ka·ḥă·ḡā·ḇîm,

כַּֽחֲגָבִ֔ים

in their sight

bə·‘ê·nê·hem.
