We have not noted any instance of this verb in our sources, but for the corresponding λευκόω, ";whiten,"; cf. Syll 587.140 (B.C. 329–8) τὸν βωμὸν τοῦ Πλούτωνος. . . λευκῶσαι, ib. 306.34 (Delphi—ii/B.C.) The subst. λεύκωμα, a white board used for public notices, is seen in such a passage as Syll 510.5 (Ephesus—ii/B.C.)
