and ib. 502.4 (iii/iv A.D.) βουλὴ ταὐτὸν ἔπραξε παρη [γορίην υἱ ]οῖ [ο. For the verb see the pagan letter of consolation on the occasion of a death P Oxy I. 115.11 (ii/A.D.) (= Selections, p. 96) παρηγορεῖτε οὖν ἑαυτούς, Syll.3 866.29 (A.D. 153) παρηγορῆσαι αὐτοῦ τά τε τέκνα καὶ τοὺς συνγενῖς. . . φέριν συνμέτρως τὰ τῆς λύπης, and Kaibel 261.19 (ii/A.D.) τὸν βίον τρυφῇ παρηγόρησον.
