 I. זִמְרָה noun feminine melody, song, in praise of ׳י — absolute ׳ז Psalm 81:3 2t.; זִמְרָת Exodus 15:2; Psalm 118:14; Isaiah 12:2, read זִמְרָתִ(יׅ (see Di Ex SS); construct זִמְרַת Amos 5:23, on Genesis 43:11 see below; —

1 of instrumental musicוְזִמְרַת נְבָלֶיךָ Amos 5:23 ("" המון שִׁריך).

2 of singing׳תּוֺדָה וקול ז Isaiah 51:3; as subject of song עֻזִּיוְזִמְרָתִי יָהּ (so read) Exodus 15:2; Isaiah 12:2; Psalm 118:14.

(a) vocal, Psalms 81:3, 98:5.

(b) instrumental, Amos 5:23. Meton. זִמְרַת הָאָרֶץ song of the land, i.e. its most praised fruits or productions, Genesis 43:11. Compare Greek ἀοίδιμος, celebrated in songs, i.q. celebrated.
