מָאן Ch. a vessel, i.q. Heb. כְּלִי Daniel 5:2,, 23. In Targg. also defect. מָן, Syr. ܡܐܳܢܐܳ. It appears to be for מַאֲנֶה, from the root אָנָה No. II. Arab. انى Conj. IV. to hold, whence اذآ a vessel, אֲנִי a ship, see page 64, A.
