1316) pn (נפ NP) AC: Shake CO: Sieve AB: ?: The pictograph n is a picture of seed, the p is a picture of a mouth. Combined these mean "seed in the mouth". A sieve is a tool used to separate out materials such as seeds by placing the material in the sieve, lifting it up and shaking it.

נוֹף m. elevation, height, from the Arabic usage نَوُْف from the root, ناف to be high, conspicuous, Psalms 48:3 “beautiful in height is mount Zion,” i.e. it rises up beautifully. The word נֹף Memphis (which see), is of Egyptian origin.
