Pi`el <Imperfect 3 masculine singular יְעַוֵּל Isaiah 26:10 (opposed to נְכֹחוֺת); Participle מְעַוֵּל Psalm 71:4 (+ חוֺמֵץ, "" רָשָׁע).
עָוַל not used in Kal; prop. to turn away, to distort (compare אָוַל, חָבַל); hence to be wicked. Arab. عال Med. Waw quiesc. to decline, turn aside, especially from what is just.
Piel עִוֵּל to act wickedly, Psalms 71:4; Isaiah 26:10. (Syr. Aph. id.)
