אֶתְנָה see תנה.
אָתוֹן f. a she-ass, so called from its slowness; see the root אָתַן. (Arab. أَتَانُ a she-ass, and the female of the wild ass; Aram. אֲתָנָא, ܐܰܬܢܳܐܳ id.) Numbers 22:23, seq. בְּנִי אֲתֹנוֹ “the son of his ass,” i.e. his ass. Genesis 49:11. Pl. אֲתֹנוֹת Genesis 12:16, 32:16.
