בֶּגֶד in pause בָּֽגֶד; with suff. בִּגְדוֹ, בִּגְדִי (as if from בֵּגֶד [“the ד without dag. lene contrary to the rule, Lehrg. p. 94”]); pl. בְּגָדִים, בִּגְדֵי; once בִּגְדוֹתֶיךָ Psalms 45:9, m. (once fem., Leviticus 6:20).
(1) a covering, cloth, with which anything is wrapped up, -Nu. 4:613 ; used of the coverings of a bed, 1 Samuel 19:13; 1 Kings 1:1.
(2) a garment [“usually the outer garment of the Oriental”], Genesis 39:12, 13 Genesis 39:13, 15 Genesis 39:15, 41:42 especially a precious one, 1 Kings 22:10; 2 Chronicles 18:9 LXX. ἱμάτιον, στολή.
(3) perfidy, Jeremiah 12:1.
(4) rapine, a spoiling, Isaiah 24:16.
