קָבַל not used in Kal, prop. to be before, in front, over against (Arab. قَبْلُ front, قَبْلَ before); hence, to come from before, to come to meet, Arab. قَبَلَ.

Piel קִבֵּל.

(1) prop. to receive any one (one who comes to meet one, Arab. قَبلَ), 1 Chronicles 12:18 any thing, i.q. לָקַח, but only in the later [?] Hebr., 2 Chronicles 29:16, 22 2 Chronicles 29:22; Ezra 8:30 (opp. to reject); Job 2:10; Esther 4:4, 9:23, 27 to receive instruction, Proverbs 19:20.

Hiphil, intransitive, to be opposed, stand over against one another, Exodus 26:5, 36:12. Arab. Conj. III. id.
