Gesenius' Hebrew and Chaldee Definition

תַּאֲוָה f. (from the root אָוַה No. I)

(1)  desire, longing, whether good and just, Psalms 10:17, 21:3 or wicked, Psalms 112:10.

(2) in a bad sense, lust, desire (Luft, Gelüft). Numbers 11:4, הִתְאַוּוּ תַּאֲוָה “they lusted a lust.” Psal. 78:29, 30 Psalms 78:30. קִבְרוֹת הַתַּאֲוָה the graves of lust, Numbers 11:34, 35 Numbers 11:35.

(3) delight, object of desire. מַאֲכַל תַּאְוָה food of delight, i.e. delicate, Job 33:20; Genesis 3:6 also, honour, ornament, Genesis 49:26; Proverbs 19:22.
