Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets tell them, You shall not see the sword, neither shall you have famine; but I will give you assured shalom in this place.

Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? or can the sky give showers? Aren't you he, the LORD our God? therefore we will wait for you; for you have made all these things.

Your words were found, and I ate them; and your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by your name, the LORD, God Tzva'ot.

For thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el: Behold, I will cause to cease out of this place, before your eyes and in your days, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride.

It shall happen, when you shall show this people all these words, and they shall tell you, Why has the LORD pronounced all this great evil against us? or what is our iniquity? or what is our sin that we have committed against the LORD our God?

and say, Hear you the word of the LORD, kings of Yehudah, and inhabitants of Yerushalayim: thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el, Behold, I will bring evil on this place, which whoever hears, his ears shall tingle.

Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el, Behold, I will bring on this city and on all its towns all the evil that I have pronounced against it; because they have made their neck stiff, that they may not hear my words.

Thus says the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, Behold, I will turn back the weapons of war that are in your hands, with which you fight against the king of Bavel, and against the Kasdim who besiege you, without the walls; and I will gather them into the midst of this city.

Then they shall answer, Because they forsook the covenant of the LORD their God, and worshiped other gods, and served them.

Therefore thus says the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, against the shepherds who feed my people: You have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them; behold, I will visit on you the evil of your doings, says the LORD.

Am I a God at hand, says the LORD, and not a God afar off?

The burden of the LORD shall you mention no more: for every man's own word shall be his burden; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of Hosts our God.

Thus says the LORD, the God of Yisra'el: Like these good figs, so will I regard the captives of Yehudah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Kasdim, for good.

I will give them a heart to know me, that I am the LORD: and they shall be my people, and I will be their God; for they shall return to me with their whole heart.

For thus says the LORD, the God of Yisra'el, to me: take this cup of the wine of wrath at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send you, to drink it.

You shall tell them, Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el: Drink you, and be drunken, and spew, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.

Now therefore amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he has pronounced against you.

Then said the princes and all the people to the Kohanim and to the prophets: This man is not worthy of death; for he has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.

and give them a charge to their masters, saying, Thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el, Thus shall you tell your masters:

yes, thus says the LORD of Hosts, the God of Yisra'el, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of the LORD, and in the house of the king of Yehudah, and at Yerushalayim:
