So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the River, and set his face toward the mountain of Gilead.

And he took his brothers with him, and pursued after him seven days' journey; and he overtook him in the mountain of Gilead.

And Laban came up with Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mountain: and Laban with his brothers encamped in the mountain of Gilead.

And Jacob said to his brothers, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made a heap: and they ate there by the heap.

May the God of Abraham and the God of Nahor judge between us. And Jacob swore by the Fear of his father Isaac.

And Jacob offered a sacrifice in the mountain, and called his brothers to eat bread: and they ate bread, and tarried all night in the mountain.

And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed and returned to his place.

And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.

And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother to the land of Seir, the field of Edom.

And he lodged there that night, and took of that which he had with him a present for Esau his brother:

And he delivered them into the hand of his slaves, every drove by itself, and said to his slaves, Pass over before me, and put a space between drove and drove.

and you shall say, Moreover, look, your slave Jacob is behind us. For he said, I will appease him with the present that goes before me, and afterward I will see his face; perhaps he will accept me.

And he rose up that night, and took his two wives, and his two female slaves, and his eleven children, and passed over the ford of the Jabbok.

And when he saw that he didn't prevail against him, he touched the hollow of his thigh; and the hollow of Jacob's thigh was strained, as he wrestled with him.

And the sun rose on him as he passed over Penuel, and he limped on his thigh.

And Jacob lifted up his eyes, and looked, and noticed that Esau was coming, and with him four hundred men. And he divided the children to Leah, and to Rachel, and to the two female slaves.

And he himself passed over before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.

And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him: and they wept.

And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children; and said, Who are these with you? And he said, The children whom God has graciously given your slave.

Let my lord, I pray you, pass over before his slave: and I will lead on gently, according to the pace of the cattle that are before me and according to the pace of the children, until I come to my lord, to Seir.
